I read something that disturbed me, and I just wanted to see if it's right.

Is it true that failing a scan no longer changes you from On Leave to Combatant?

I know originally it was supposed to, but the person posting said it was changed. If it did, then it totally changes everything (again) for me. I wanted to be a On Leave Rebel in the hopes that I would eventually fail a scan and have to fight my way out. If they're just going to attack Combatants, then there is no point in the scan since those guys get attacked anyway.

News to me...

I haven't seen anything from a Dev saying that it was changed, and the patch info still says that an "On Leave" faction member still runs the risk of being scanned, turned Combatant, and possible reinforcements being called.

I've only played about 30 minutes on live today though, and wasn't even supposed to be playing then (kinda hijacked the unmonitored DSL line here at work for a few minutes...*shifty*...)

But, when I get home and get in game, the first thing I'll do is go on leave and find the nearest Rebel controlled world to run around and see what happens...

Sweet thanks. It'll really piss me off if it did change since I was gonna break down and join a faction just to get that effect. Actually I was gonna play the faction fence and bounce to whichever faction was in the minority at any given time.

Any word on this yet Dreven? I kinda want to find out before I go Rebel... or Imperial... or however it's working because Imps have control of Eisley and Rebs have control of Cnet... I thought Cnet wasn't a stronghold anymore.

If that's the case, then it's working differently to how the system is intended. Have you got any details?

When i loggin in this morning I was in Special Forces. I had THOUGHT i had logged out covert I stopped in bestine to check if i could vote in the morning.

Well the folks in Bestine took a dim view of a rebel colonel voting and showed me the way out of the city. They took my speeder to make sure I did not return any time soon.

Shortly after this I was offered a chance to test if FD works in PVP by a DJK who brought 3 friends to help him test the new system.

These fine fellows helped my to become anrebel combatant. Scanning crews dont bother to scan you in either case they just open fire.

I have not gone "on leave" yet to test that part as i am being paid a smugglers ransom to by faction points.
