I just wanted to toss out a couple things. I havent seen comments or background on these issues and wanted to see if anyone else had the same problems.


I am having problems with previously sliced weapons. For example: Proton Carbine sliced before publish 19. After publish 19 the slice is gone (YAY! got a crappy slice) but when i try to slice it the radial menu shows the option "slice", but when i click it nothing happens. I tried this on numerous weapons i know were sliced before publish 19 but all were a no go.


I am not 100% sure if all the weapons were sliced before the publish nor am i sure the weapons I was able to slice were not sliced before the publish but i am pretty sure.

This leads into 2 comments:


First, is the non slice ability due to the weapon being above cap. I read somewhere that people havent been able to slice weapons because they were above the cap on that weapon. I have a major problem with this, if this is true what is the use of a high quality weapon. Just get a lower quality one and slice it to match a high end krayt or Gorax enhanced. It would make all weapons capped basically useless and noone would be able to find uber loot make an uber gun and then slice it. I understand the need to balance to a degree and i agree with it but what is the point in slicing if all my weapons are made with krayt and gorax enhancements and cant be sliced... let me answer that there is no point.


Second, all of this may be for nought if the nonslicing is just due to a bug. I know they are rare but they have been known to happen in SWG.I honestly like the way the new system works for slicing where you can choose what you slice but it needs to be more behind the scenes and not combat oriented. for example smugglers should be good with tools... like lock picks and stuff why not have the smugglers make the tools but they have to use resources and dropped items that are not so rare in the game. but you cant make a ton at a time. the stuff that is dropped is only a stack of 5 ora draft schematic cant be made. i think slicing needs to be harder to get but you wouldnt see a smuggler run up to a krayt or a gorax and attack it head on. They are underworld contacts. they dont want to kill 100 rebels or imp npcs to find smuggler slicing items. Anyways this is kinda jumbled because i am tired... i hope that made sense.


Another problem I have is the WUKS, AUKS, Molecular Clamps and Knives being useless right now. I understand they are supposed to be changed randomly into the new slicing tools needed. I have tried doing that to entire crates and all 25 pieces from a crate and not one worked. the radial menu gives me the normal stuff. "Use","Examine", "Destroy". but nothing works for the new system. I was lucky enough to find some on a vendor to atleast test the system. I was able to slice one of my Featherweights to a tier 4 speed slice with what i found and another Featherweight to a tier 3 damage, tier 1 speed and tier 1crit damage but again all my good weapons were not able to be sliced.


okay, I know this is jumbled but its late. give me your feedback on this.



PS. When are we going to see the ability to create Jawa's!?!?!?!?! I want to run around killing krayts with my jawa ion pistol!!!
