Thread: Why not a Smuggling Mission Terminal?

So, in other words, you're asking for a smuggler to be able to smuggle. Wow, that's anew one

Sorry, I in no way wanted to bash you and I intend no disrespect. In fact, you will find that almost everyone here (including me) will fully agree with you. That's something that has been asked for since launch, and as for the current status... well, I suggest you look at the Dev tracker for the last 2-3 days.


Basically, things like this were promised to the smugglers but have now been pushed back because the Devs intend to concentrate on bug fixes for the time being.

So don't hold your breath waiting for it...

Smuggling terminals is a lame idea, sorry.


We should get our missions from NPC's. It's just more Smugglery.

Agreed, but if they put down a Bothan in a hooded cloak or a mission terminal is probably a very minor detail in implementation and shouldn't really make much of a difference for practical purposes. But it would be better for the immersion

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of getting missions from Jabba, Borvo, Lady Valerian, etc...

I agree with this totally. Having a dude hanging out in a dark corner in Jabba's or some Cantina's (I mean hey, isn't that where the shady dealings go down?)

It doesn't very much feel like smuggling if you were to go to a mission terminal (read: bulletin board) and pick up the name of an NPC that wants you to move some goods for him.

/agree.

i am against any and all terminals in this game actually.
they disrupt immersion. i know to some it may be an afterthought. but if they got rid of ALL mission terminals, and we all got our missions (even those boring "go 800m South and kill X" missions) from NPCs the game would be vastly improved.

we should all be working for someone in this game. be it the Empire, the Rebellion, Jabba, Black Sun, a local night club owner, or even the mayor of Narmle. we should have a "Boss" that we go to when we need work. instead we're all a bunch of freelancers and vagrants running around the galaxy blowin stuff up.

I like terminals for generic missions. think of it has the star wars equivalent of Monster.com


And there is a solution to have smuggling on terminals, I outline it in my "vision" make the whole slicing a terminal thing access to illegal network of missions.



I am just saying i would cringe at the thought of a terminal sitting in front of the starport right next to the storm trooper labeled "Smuggling Missions"

Perhaps this as already been discussed. Wouldn't having a mission terminal dedicated to the smuggling profession provide a litte more content. Perhaps, doing a mission from one of these "hypothetical" terminals would mean greater oppurtunity to loot slicing components. Maybe there could be delivery missions from planet to planet at these terminals, where you have to avoid scans and handle threats by persuasion or force on land and in space, until you reach your destination and complete the mission alive.

I am most likely dreaming, but it doesn't hurt to hope.
