Wow.
Very cool.
I'd imagine the system behind the scenes determing the "slicing damage cap" is all screwed up.
Considering a day before the publish went live, there was no cap on slicing damage on Test Center.
Somewhere between the final TC publish and going live, somebody slapped in a (no doubt, half-arsed) cap on how high damage could be sliced.
So I wouldn't be surprised if this number varied from weapon to weapon, made no sense, and didn't even effect all weapon types.
Maybe Blixtev can check out that too while he's peeking at the unslicable bio-linked items? Nahhhh...

what i wanna know is howcome it makes no mention of the item having been "sliced" and the fact that it is now considered illegal by Imperial law?
i know there's no real laws that are enforced by Imperials in the game, but still it's like they've given up on the illegality issue
and that makes baby Han cry...

Check the latest publish notes:
"Objects that have been sliced should now display a message on the examine window of the object after they have been sliced."
Who says we get no attention?
Okay, sorry, that wasn't funny.

i saw that... but this screenshot shows a message... sorta. it shows the customization level and how much each thing was altered.
i thought that's what this publish note was talkin about.
or are they re-introducing the note on the illegality of the item?
if only they'd introduce the actual illegality of sliced items

The % customization level has been displayed since the new slicing system went in. It appears on any item sliced under the new system.
The problem was that on pre-Publish items that were sliced, the old "illegally modified blah blah blah" message was removed. And no "customization" message was added.
So, basically, there was no way to tell whether or not an item had been sliced using the "old" system. Unless you tried to slice it.
I'm guessing this patch note is referring to adding back some sort of message (whether it's the same text or not, who knows) on the pre-slicing-publish-sliced weapons, so people don't get duped into buying weapons they think can be sliced, only to find out later, they can't be.
