Thread: the unarmed grind, slow, boring, and beautiful
So I'm punch, kick, punching my way to smuggler! I don't have a problem with unarmed being a requirement, thats cool adds a little flavor and all that. I just wonder why it has to be so painful? Its sllllooooooww.
Also, how'd they get the animations for unarmed combat to look so good? I find often I'm just watching the movement, it does help to releave the boredem of punch, kick, punch.....
Yes yes it is
I fell in love with the TKA moves a long time ago
now that I'm a master I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did the exact same thing last night. Looked at my 3-4-4-2 bounty hunter tree, thought about doing 28 more Inv4 missions (and I couldn't bring myself to do one forover a week) and how burned out I was on BH. I really, really enjoyed it-- I just wasn't going to master it. I was also faced with dropping the remains of my Pistoleer skills, and I didn't wanna. ![]()
So, dropped BH and started punching with my friends on Endor. I also picked up a gaffi stick and started using that. I almostlaughed when I noticed how much damage I was doing with a so-so Gaffi and one-handed body hit 1. Two boxes in to one-handed and I was damaging like when I was a Master Pistoleer!
I am really liking the Fencer profession (I like the moves, and the elegant weapons) so it will be tough to pick between TKM/Smuggler/Pistoleer or Smuggler/Fencer/Trickshot. That's why I am here on the Smuggler boards now, trying to figure it out.
Can't wait to start slicing thoselocked containers Istashed away over the past months. I always wanted to be a Smuggler, and now I am going to do it.
EDIT: Oh, yeah- Here is a tip if you don't know it. We're no longer certified for the vibroknuckler until Novice TKA, but you can still equip one. You will do a bit less damage but you will totally make up for it since the speed mod of the knucker takes effect. You will get through UA much faster. My Commando buddy taught me that one!

hehe
a tip for ya not sure if someone mentioned it but get some spd sliced vks put some power ups on em and get buffed.
I know you "dont have the cert for vks" but you will do faster and more dmg than without them.
Then go attack red cons.the first few will take a while but as you progress it gets better. Once your a novice tka then buff up and head to rancor valley. You'll have all the xps you'll need in no time

yup I got a pair of vk's 2.3 speed. Don't think they're sliced though. They do help quite a bit. I'm I think like 15-20k into unarmed4, so I hope to finish that up this evening. I'm curious about the "triple master" I might give that a whirl, but med has been exceptionally useful to me. Oh well, I have time to think about that.
Yep i agree med's are my only worry as well, im drop medic (4 0 0 0) dead last so we will have to see. Any triple threats out there with advice on the med's issue??
its been my experiance that if I'm buffed, and this holds true in pve and pvp, and if im gonna go down ...i'm gonna go down. The thing is even when I was master medic if an agro was to hit me enough to need a heal buffed even with the heal I was only prolonging the incap.
where as at triple master I don't fret the heal going into my plan and do a little more dmg. If I go down especially in pve right before I do I feign death and as soon as I hit the ground I force of will. When it works I just get back up and start fighting again. When it doesnt I just wait it out.
I just dont go out unbuffed much these days.
All the TK moves (and all other pc animations) Are from motion capture video. Thats why they look so slick.
As for med skills...you will finally be free of a 15sp ball and chain. I dont miss medic at all. But I DO miss my terrain negotiation.
Yes nova they are very Slick
I love the TKA combos man the best I tell ya THE BEST!!!!!!
