So what are you guys going to do. You going neutral, faction pilot or are you going to build ships. Great Big Ships? I know you all will drop your ground base skills to get pilot. Or will they allow a "speical pilot points" so you don't have to drop your current skills to fly a ship. I think I'd take up pistols again and go Imperial Pilot Ace. Ace it sounds so good as a title. Hell I might even smuggle, you never know
Discuss, I know you want to

Well, according to the guy I spoke to at GameStop recently, it's supposed to ship Oct. 16th, while the smuggler revamp is supposedly going live on Oct. 5th. Soooooooo, I guess we just have to cross our fingers and hope.

I can't emember where I read it (think it was IGN) but they had an interview with Haden and someone else. In the interview they said that the space professions were going to recieve extra skill points, but they aren't sure about the shipwright, that may just be considered a ground profession.

My time will be split 50/50 between blowing up crap for the Rebellion and smuggling/privateering (whatever the hell TH was referring to at E3). My guild has many pilots from the PA's parent online club, so the PvP uber dudes and dudettes will no doubt have their comeupance when faced by our superior skills and multiplayer tactics
.. ahem, enough blowing my own horn and envisaging of greatness.. back to scrubbing the privy with my master pistoleer skills

From the pics posted on the BH forum from the E3 conference, you can see that the character made had the pilot profession along with novice medic. As we know it, each of the novice base profession takes 15 skill points to aquire. In the picture, you can see that the character created is only missing 15 skill points from their pool. Assuming that the character created is how it will be when the SE goes live, piolot professions will not be based on skill points, but instead on which faction you serve.

Check the article at http://swvault.ign.com/articles/515/515507p1.html
Pilots skill points are separate from terrestrial skill points and one doesn't affect the other. Shipwright will more than likely be a terrestrial profession and affect skill points like they do now, however that hasn't been put in stone and they may just add more skill points for terrestrial professions so people won't have to drop a profession to get shipbuilding.
