We, the Smuggler population, promise not to hurt him in any way, shape or form! Hes our only hope for a Revamp and we loved his ideas! Devs, we won't kill him and I'll blast any Smuggler who tries. We are a civil forum 99% of the time, with some of the most cordial and well respected players in the game. We have a harmony on these boards that others could only dream about. But we are upset that we seem to lose more than we gain most of the time. I understand why Feign Death got the nerf, but I do disagree about the way it was done and not taking into account our proposals that would have made it workable and a benefit to the Smuggler. Our proposals solvedthe problem it was between the Jedi and Bounty Hunters. Please don't let me plead to deaf ears. Give us the courtesy of your presence and we will show you the proper (good) respect that you do deserve. You have done much to improve this game recently and I have high hope for the future. I'll be happy for just one message by him saying we are not forgotten. I've had faith in this game and its Devs fora long time SOE, I've helped personally in solving many exploits and ideas for improving the game. I want to have an equal discussion where everything is out on the table in a good way. I think you could so earn the goodwill of the community if you would just pay us a visit again. We were happiest when you talked to us, trolls and flamers notwithstanding. Please, just have a long ongoing chat with us...

I must say, SoE could learn a frackin' thing or two about communication from Blizzard. I was reading the posts about Druid concerns and issues, and how well the representative comunicated with the community, and I just felt like $#!+ for this game because of how asinine and pathetic SoE does it.

To expound, when the Druids had a question, the Blizzard rep at least acknowledged it, and lacking information or a clear answer to the question, at least said that they would look into it and address it in their next communication. If someone was unknown, they at least said it was being looked at, worked on, or in discussion.
Paragraphs. Multiple posts. Repeated communication over time, and actually taking community concerns into discussion. Giving as much clarification as possible when asked for it.
No damned "=)" after an unclear message, that's known to be unclear, with no explanation. No one or two posts then disappearing. No cryptic messages. Actual, real life constructive communication, and when they had info they couldn't release or wasn't final, they say so... they don't act like a superior older sibling lording a known secret over someone's head.

I say they have made great strides with adding Tiggs and Calandryll, but the Devs are expecting a loaded gun waiting for them if they show their face here. Why should they work with us if all it produces is flame fests? We may be the most neglected profession out there, but if we sit here and brood about it and tell the Devs to kiss off we aren't helping ourselves at all. We would just be shooting ourselves in the foot, keeping the cycle going to where the Devs will forever push us off cause we have itchy trigger fingers. We have to meet the Devs in the middle or this just isn't going to work. With other professions hoping for our death, we really don't want to alienate the Devs to the max now do we?

The devs DON'T come here and try to work with us, and the Smuggler community is one of the more mature and civil ones out there. They're just sick of getting nothing but crap. If a dev or representative came here and communicated in a frikkin productive and informational manner, they would be met with a relatively constructive and mature community.

Thing is, we were not the most civil board when that new Dev showed up to talk with us. He was an artist and a playing Smuggler. We scared him off. After that, zilch came our way except for the faction cap raise.

Because they were the ones who doused us with kerosene and threw the burning match. If they can't stand the heat they shouldn't have started the fire. I'm all for being civil, but they don't listen to us. Look what's happened now. If the Devs were paying attention they'd change the name of this forum to JEDI FORUMS PART 2, cuz, I mean, look at it. Every other post has the word Jedi in the title. Even my level-headed (IMO) post to try and get the Jedi and BH's on the same page as us has the word Jedi in the title. We come up with new and creative ideas all day long, we come up with solutions to problems FOR them, and like I said, we spell out the issues we want THEM to solve. They obviously don't care to listen.

Honestly, the Devs have all the power. They are the gods and we are the mortal beings. They know there are issues with Jedi. I expect the GCW revamp and the CURB to bring them more in line. If you look at the number of posts overall, 75% are Jedi related in some shape or fashion. You may be the most civil and nicest person here, but proclaiming they never listen is already turning them off from the post. Thing is, if we only play up the negative things that they have done then we are still flaming them for either not listening, being Jedi fanboys or whatever while still being civil. We have to get past this and try to help them start with a clean slate here. If every other sentence brings up a dev failing, it will quickly turn to flames. They probably won't listen to us as we do beat them over the head about the Smuggler Revamp every second. Everyone knows we are the most neglected profession. Our most cherished topic is the History of the Smugglers as written by the Devs. We reach for that so fast and they are so embarrased about itthat they withdraw. We either try to reach out to them to help them join us or we proclaim "They obviously don't care to listen" and we stew in the mess that we make. Theres only two options here, hope for the best in Dev nature or wallow in despair. It should be obvious what is best for the community as a whole.
