Thread: something that made me shake my head and wonder....

The other night I was in coronet about to head south and do some shopping. Now usually, I turn off my spatial in Coronet cause I hate all the spamming. This time I was distracted and forgot to...and something in the chat caught my eye.
"Master Smuggler slicing all armors and weapons"
ok...that's fine...I publically admit I am a criminal and doing criminal activities for the public.
"I use 99% clamps and 90% knives for the best slices."
ok...here is the thing that caught my eye...oh how I wich that caylin was on my server. I sent him a /tell and told him that the quality of the clamps and knives have no impact on the slice, and if he is probably paying too much for these tools. He ignored me, of course, but lo and behold not an hour later I was asked by someone to slice a weapon for them. I said sure, and then he asked...what are the effectiveness of your tools? I just shook my head....and sent him on his way. There are some things you just have to shake your head and wonder at....

Your a Smuggler Lie just say I will get you the best master smuggler slices anyone can get. If they are so worried about the quality of tools then tell them to find another one. Its not easy finding a Master smuggler all the time. I just hope when I do find one they dont have a vendetta against Bounty Hunters/

lol...I only have a 70% effectiveness on my lying tool though.
For all bounty Hunters on Waderhome...I will now slice all your weapons and armor for free. No joke free. I will do anything it takes to make a Jedi's gaming life Hell.

Hmmm...I don't experiment on any of my tools...and have been known to use the crappiest Aluminum I can find to make my clamps. And Aluminum is not known for its conductivity stat. I think I've made several runs of 5% Clamps. And, currently, I have a nice run of 1% PLKs going through my factories.
If anybody really presses the issue though, sure...I have 99% effective tools. What are they gonna do, ask me for proof?

Could always name one clamp and one laser knife then put '100% experimented' or some darn thing in the name. Use it for presentation purposes or if they ask you to prove it. Then if they dispute that claim of 100% just say it was made on 'Crafting Tuesday' when those successes were possible. After advertising it though make sure you tack on the obligatory 'Though I use 100% tools it doesn't make one damn bit of difference'.

Do what I do. When I make clamps and knives, Ialways name them like this: Molecular Clamp - 99%, or Precision Laser Knife - 99%, no matter what they experiment up to. It's not like it makes a difference, but you can always show the rubes to shut them up. When I order my WUKs and AUKs, I ask them to use the same naming.
When someone asks me if I use good tools, I say yep, the best tools possible!

Talk about using crappy tools.The other night, I pulled a clamp out of the crate and it showed red. I guess I had cloned one too many times with it and it had decayed to nothing. I used it anyway, just to see and ended up with a 30% slice on a T21 (can't remember which stat though).
BTW, 5 stars to the man above me to offset the one star bandit.
