Thread: The best thing that happened to a Smuggler on the bria server ever!!!

Well today marked 2 diffrent things for me, 1st it was my 1 year anaversary as a MASTER SMUGGLER, WOOT WOOT
Second thing was i held a event for that ocasion, although it was a small event it lasted almost 3 hours and was realy kinda cool we had a Han Solo look a like contest that was won by a fellow named Candarous
Best dressed smuggler on bria contest won by Keso'ao
then we had a gift exchange, very fun a recomended thing to do at any event!!!
and lastlya Smuggler RUN with a 1 million cred prize!
the run which consisted of a start in the cantina of Mos Eisleguard, a run to a mission at the Imperial Oasis, a trip to drop off loot at jabba's shuttle and get new directions, a run to a mission in mos takka, a off world trip for much need spice in the Tallus Imperial base, and Back to my house in tattoine, where i proudly showed off my place
the run lasted about 40 minutes for the winner and 50 minutes for the last place finisher so generaly it was a close race. buffs were not allowed, and neither was armor, and everything else is leagle.
it was TONS of fun, the winner Candarous tiped everyone that finished 50k out of his winnings
we had 7 participants in the run and only 2 droped out but only one disapointedly 
The race particapents names were CANDAROUS, KRATAS, NESSIUS, KESO'AO, ZATIEK, GOLDENKENSAI, AND WELL-DOYA

I DEFINATLY PLAN ON DOING MORE RACES ON THE BRIA SERVER, and learned from my mistakes so i wont do those things again.
i might change things up a bit cause but having 3 legs in the race was about perfect, not to long not to short and all around smuggley
if you didnt get a invite then you didnt have your tag up, so its your fault not mine, but email me and ill inclued you in the mailing list so you get invited to some of my up coming events, this was a event run all by my self, no dev was involved, although if the want to reinburse my 1million prize that would be cool or maybe sponcer my next race. anyways im rambling now, im outa here!

Yes it was definately a great time !
Think the only reason I didn't get scanned is because the stormies were distracted scanning everyone else. 
Hopefully more people will show next time.

Wow! GREAT! Someone have to organise that on Chilastra, or I am gonna create a Smuggler toon on Bria or something.

The key is if you do something like this you have to make sure that its not to hard ie. you cant put one of the places inside of the deathwatch bunker. and you have to make sure that anyone can finish it, ie. not inside a locked POI like jabba's.
Having a plan is a must! if you dont have a plan its not going to work, another suggestion is to have a friend do a trial run BEFORE you run the race, that way you know if something works or not. making items and putting them on the bazar works great, but only if you make enough of them and put them for sale not auction that way you can be someplace else and they can pick up the item and bring it to you.

That race sounds like it was awesome =) I may try to organize one on the Lowca server.
If I may ask, you said there'r things you'd do differently and things you learned from it. Could you give us some pointers about running our own races, and any recommendations you have?

pointers? hmmmm, ok sure here are the waypoints i used in order so go a head and use them
___ 2000 -4693 tattoine____ this was the cantina that we started at (group with racers, and giveracers the next 2 waypoints)
___ -5269 2691 tatt___ imperial oasis -run mission from guy standing there recieve item, if no item run again
___ -6174 -6378 tatt___ jabba's spaceport- they deliver item to you here, hint to get here quick use a ship and LAND AT JABBA's. when they trade you item give them waypoints for next 2 places**** YOU MUST MEET THEM HERE***
____3786 2396 tatt____ run mission from criminal in tavern and get item( i think its mos taake)
____-2169 2396 talus____ Imperial starport racer gets item from the buzar and goes to waypoint said on item. (best way to do this is to MAKE spice in a factory, and place it on the bazar, sell as many as there are racers and place one on as a auction for 6k, this allows them each to get one and just incase someother person buys them, have the waypoint there on the auction)
____1900 -4600 tattoine____ this is the finish. i used my home in all its smuggleyness had a good time showing off the place as well
*** hints
-making spice that has the waypoints is a good way for the talus pick up mission
-give them the first 2 waypoints and EXACT DIRECTIONS ((i used a macro, might be better in a group e-mail))--- make sure both waypoints are given in the same macro other wise people will run away
-if they get lost help them in the group chat, kinda funny to listen there also, be sure to incourage not just call them dumbasses. lol
-remember these are people and can get confused but if they make a mistake like go to the wrong waypoint or, type the directions backwards not your fault
-tell them at the start of the race NO BUFFS, NO ARMOR, all else is cool, this way everyone is on a even playing field
- tell them the hazzards, scans, and agro animals
-smuggler luck also plays a big part in this, but EVERYONE MAKES AT LEAST ONE MISTAKE,
-after you give a winners prize of "X" amout of creddits try to convince him or her to tip all the race finishers that finished after him, in my case i gave the guy 1 million and he tiped out 50k to each finisher. but also realize that its his choice and he is a smuggler so dont always count on them tiping everybody
-you could run the race as a pay to race and gets the pot, if every racer puts in 100k would make it intresting with 20 racers
- be prepared for people to drop out of the race cause of RL ISSUES or if they are just 2 frustrated, theres nothing you can do about it
- i used the tag search to find smugglers for a few weeks, does not get them all i know. i also used group e-mails to let everyone know what was going on (I HAD ONE COMPLAINT ABOUT THAT AND THERES ALWAYS A BAD APPLE IN THE BARREL)
-race works with inbetween 4 and group max of racers. if you have more participants in the race run 2 heats, as the ones that wait pvp with each other.
-im tired of typing and am going to start planning my next race!!!
