Thread: A request for Non Smugglers...

This is from me, and me only, so don't go bashing all Smugglers over this...

Stay the hell off our forum for the next 48 hours.

I am sick of a profession that has never been treated the way we have come in here and tell us we're wrong or we're whining. I am sick of the I'm sorry, buts... Either be sorry or shutup. The rest doesn't really matter, and your sorry means nothing when you go on to tell us how bad this needed to happen.

NO PROFESSION HAS WALKED IN THE SHOES THAT SMUGGLER HAS SINCE LAUNCH SO DON'T TELL ME HOW BAD YOU'VE HAD IT. (Except for maybe the SLs and Rangers, but at least they're just broken and not on a nerf cycle. I got love for you guys, really I do.)

I thank those of you who have been TRULY supportive, but the rest of em are really starting to get to me.

Damn trolls.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Don't forget the Creature Handlers. They've been nerfed to oblivion on more than one occasion. And to be honest, Bounty Hunters have felt the sting of the nerf bat, as well. Rangers actually got a bit of Dev love... although most of it turned out not to be as nice as expected. Squad Leaders... well, they're actually worse off than we are. They never really worked worth a damn from the start.

Just thought I'd clarify a little bit.

Yeah. I mean, I just don't understand the mentality of some of the outsiders coming here since yesterday. Hell, a lot of people would have calmed down by now if they would just leave us alone.

The real reason I want them to stay out is something tells me once everyone gains their composure, the Smuggler Forums are going to come up with something really good to prove a point to others. Me personally. I'm trying to come up with the best way to utilize the "History of the Smuggler" thread along with updates, and what was advertised for this game at launch. If I don't use it now, I'm going to use it when they announce apublish consisting of game features that were supposed to be available at launch.

I think it's funny that they think they can just roll in here and stand toe to toe with the "Master Cynics." They really don't know who they are dealing with

Thanks, this is the kind of post that I don't mind. No strings attached support... doesn't raise the ire one bit.

I don't know what kind of PvP crew you run with but from my experiance a SL who knows what they are doing makes a good PvP group into a GREAT PvP group. I hear, 'we are raiding, do we have a SL?' all the time. Never heard that about smuggler yet.....

Fish is right. I used to be a MasterSmuggler/Master Squad Leader. While they don't get many benefits and abilities, the potency of these far outweigh thier number. The only useless skill they have is to send system messages to all group members, which a non-Squad Leader can basicly do with Group Chat. However, if you feel you wanna engage in some propaganda(and your group is multifactional), it can be a very fun skill.

Is it me, or have the mods finally killed that bh/jedi argument thread?

I cant believe that I'm starting to miss the "is there any benefit to master smuggler" posts.

I guess I should preface my comments with a disclaimer saying that my views are from a PvE perspective. I don't "run with a PvP crew". I've only known PvE folks who take up the SL profession only to drop it soon after because they felt it was completely worthless.

Its only worthless for people who like to solo or want to use it with pets. There are many subtleties to Squad Leader. Not only are you a support role for the entire group, but being a Squad Leader requires that you can make tactical decision, think strategically, and have a crew that does what you tell them to when you tell them to do it. Not one that just runs about attacking who/whatever they feel like. Squad Leader is not something you just choose to pickup and add to your template, its something that requires work, foresight, the notion you probably won't "get all the glory", and the need to lead. The profession isn't for everyone; it takes dedication and the willingness to play with others, not around others.

however for those truely dedicated to the profession, SL, is IMO one of the deadliest group opponents on the battlefield.
