Being a master rifleman, i only have the use of standard marksman pistols in the pistol 1-4 trees. Im about to start on the final grind of smuggler being pistols XP. Can anyone give advice on the best pistol available in the marksman level and the best place to grind.

Well, there's about a million threads on gaining pistol XP but ........

I recently re did Smuggler with only the Marksman branch of pistols, I used a FWG and found regular quenkers (5k on Dant) to be the best XP in relation to the time spent killing them, 3.5k per mob, ish. I tried various other mobs that gave 5k per kill but it just wasn't worth it for the extra time it took killing them.

Oh, and remember to use powerups on the pistol.

I know it almost doesn't make sense, but what worked best for me was first getting Novice Pistoleer and using a DX2 Pistol.

Then i would get in a large group, get buffs, including mind buffs. Take Brandy with me, put on some armor and got Savage Quenkers missions. I would get on average 3800xp each kill. The DX2 seems to be quicker. The lairs would give 5 mobs at a time. (A couple of babies :0P) I used Health Shot 2 along with Low blow (once I got it) all day long.

I got through the pistols in one day.

I'd agree with getting novicePistoleer and using a dx2 with healthshot 2 , you can drop it once your done with your pistol grind
