As a Smuggler, we all have felt the pain of not having a real role in the game but the CU sure has changed that.
When it first went live I spent alot of time learning what the attacks and defenses were, and just generally re-organizing my toons (all 4 I use). So last night at last I thought I had it together enough to go hunting with a group of guildies.....OH MY GAUD.....it totally rocks!!!!!
My role, yes smugglers now have a role, was to get off a concussion shot to root the prey, wow, what fun. And to all those who complained about the CU, sorry, but it is the most fun I have had since the start of the game, when we all were n00bs and had to group.
I want to thank the Devs for the CU. I has made the game fun again.

Some of my guildies aren't adjusted yet but for the Most part I am hearing the same thing. The CU is a definite improvement over what was there before. I am loving it myself. I really enjoy the game more and can do more than log in and hunt casually and mostly chat with my friends.

As a pure ranged combatant the CU is bloody fun....I may have something else to say about it once I get my MBE/MM alt up and running but for now I love it!

I completely agree. The CU brings back that "when we were noobs" feel for even level 80 people. I love it.

I had a setback today. Me and a friend would do the Geo Caves once a week. It was my favourite content in the game. It was challenging enough that if you weren't Doc/Rifles/Swords, it could bite you a team of 2 hard, but if you were careful and skillful anough, you could do it, and the Acklay bones and RIS schemes supplemented the slicing and faction income nicely.

Went there today, for the first time since the CU hit (been too busy PvPing) and the first kwi (CL 106) killed my partner and I in 5 hits.

I'm having a low, guys. If I can't do any PvE other than mass groups hunts and dull missions, is PvP enough to sustain the love I've had for this game for the last year?

the geo gave has yet to be balanced. I'm sure one it is you and your friend may resume your weekly ritual you might want to try the DWB untill they balance the geo cave.

I hope you're right, but the kwis HAM has been reduced, so I guessed it had been at least considered, post-CU

I'm still adjusting but from the testing I did early on to the finished product I see a much better system now, at least in my little corner of the galaxy anyway.

Better system, yes. Just as D&D3.5 is a better system than D&D1.0. However, it's a completely DIFFERENT system.

So, if you loved the game for the last year (or 2+) and don't like the PvE now... you've got some thinking to do.

I used to love the game and onlt quit because I got into CoH and just stopped playing. I had used all my points and just didn't see a point in continuing as I liked my toon as he was. Great for PvE soloing.

I have to do a lot more testing and will likely respec after JTL and RotW download. Still, I hope it's possible to be a PvE soloer while hanging on to my Master Smuggler (which I've never dropped after getting it).

What, never used Panic Shot back when it was spammable? I got some of the first krayt tissue on the server that way.

I said as a noob I was never a fan of the panic shot krayt solo trick. I was always more of a stacked bleed + FD kind of guy. I think I was the first person on Sunrunner to have a house out at the graveyard I was out there so much.
