I am a Rebel Pilot and I was wondering if it is required to be a Freelance Pilot when they release the smuggler contracts?

Not if I have anything to say about it.

I doubt it would be, though. That would seem like an unnecessary content limitation.

Would never happen, at most they might tie how high a payout mission you can get by the size of the cargo hold on the ships you say you'll use so that the best pay outs need a MP ship.

Which makes sense, especially since canonically, Smugglers favor modified tramp freighters.

There's pretty much no way they'll make it Independant-specific, though. That would be incredibly lame. But that said, if for some reason they do... well, I'll miss my Nova and my swank Ace jacket, but I could regrind master pilot in a couple days, easy.
