Thread: Settled on a New Template... Almost.

I'm still trying to debate on a new template. Didn't think this would be such a hard decision.

So far, I've figured out the basic template I want. Master Smuggler/ Master Pistoleer/ Combat Medic... something. But I'm trying to figure out what I should get in the CM tree. 0400 looks pretty tempting, with those nice DOT attacks.
But CM 4000 may also be a good idea as well, which would allow me to healpretty well.

I tried Master Smuggler/ Master Pistoleer/ Combat Medic 0400 in the ToOW beta, which came in pretty handy. But I didn't think about trying CM 4000.

So that's what I'm trying to figure out. Should I go CM 0400 or CM 4000? Or, for that matter, CM 2200?
Any advice would be appreciated.

I would thinkgoing with the 0x00line would cause you to be about as good at healing as a 0420 medic... but with CM dots. I wouldn't think much about going 2200, because without those top two boxes in medical warfare you might have a tough time getting dots to stick. I guess you could go 0400 and get a HE bioshirt + healing eff attachment on your boots or gloves, but it still wouldn't give you the big heals that 4000 would give you. Spending the 3 extra points on the 3xxx skills in senses would give you another 10 in HE.

Either way, might be a good idea to see how the action costs on heals is recieved on live before you commit. They seemed a little excessive to me, made it hard to keep up on heals while you were trying to do damage at the same time. I expect a large outcry by the MBH / MCM community, which will likely cause them to tone the action costs down some.

I thought the NGE couldn't be any worse than the CU, but I was wrong.

Yeah, the action costs is something to take into consideration. Didn't think about that.

You do not have enough skill points for cm 2-2-0-0 only 2-1-0-0 or 1-2-0-0.

Well, whatever then. That's not really what I'm trying to figure out. >>
I'll just go up 0400 or 4000. I'm just trying to figure out which I should go up.

I am in the midst of picking up 4000 Cm to go with MS MP.. but i am starting to think that i might be better going MS MCM and one line of pistols. It seems a lot of the CM stuff mimics a lot of the Pistoleer stuff and you get to heal and res.. the dots i'm not sure are worth while because i havent been able to get my novice one to stick on anything ever but who knows.. i know they will screw up concussion shot if i need to use it. ((thats why i would be reluctant to take the 0400 line)) Not sure what kind of combat mods this template would give you compared to MS MP MCM 4000... I'll take feedback if anyone wants to wade through my poorly put together, run on sentence filled post.

I am Master Smuggler/ Master Pistoleer/ CM 0400 and I love it. Overwhelming Shot (I think that's the one) and then a CM DOT attack, sticks pretty often. The DOT is sometimes the only reason that I can take higher level stuff that regens Health really fast.

Master Pistoleer/ Master Smuggler-Scylla
Master CH/ Master Rifleman/ FS Fool-Bria
Master Brawler/Master Swordsman/Formerly Master Bad@ss-Tempest
Novice Swordsman/Novice Commando- Eclipse

The one good thing about 0400 is, of course, the DOTs. One of the specials lowers the overall health of the targeted enemy, while another sets fire, and another poisons. The one that decreases the health was really handy in beta.
Of course, DOTs just come in handy, no matter what profession you are. Wish Pistoleer atleast had a bleed DOT.
At novice, it's really difficult to get CM DOTs to stick. At 0400 I had little problems getting them to stick.

Running around in the game last night, my friends and I discovered that many of the high-end mobs are immune to CM debuffs, even when hit by a MCM.

If I was going to suggest anything, it would be to take the 4xxx line for healing efficiency.

Alrighty then.
Thanks all for the input so far. Seems like 4000 may be the best bet for me.

I liked 0400 CM myself for the DOTs, like people said.

However, it seems like this clusterfook known as the latest Publish may have significantly effected how often all debuffs stick. Why, oh why, do they insist on screwing with stuff that isn't broken?
