Thread: FAKE BANK TIPS?

hi there fellow smugglers.
i was reading chuckle for a smuggler and i noticed some posts regardin fake bank tips.
i have been playing for quite a bit but never heard nothing about,.
since quite a lot of slicing in a day can someone tell me how i can tell if the bank tip is fake?¿

You will get an email with a bank tip, if it is real it is from "bank" in all lowercase. Anything else is not real. Most people aren't stupid enough to tryanything but keep an eye on your balance just the same.

hmmm, i never thought about someone sending me a fake e-mail, hopefully it's never happend but from now on i'll keep an eye on my account balance. thanks for the heads up.

There's also the thing about idiots trying to pay for slicing by /tip 0 name bank .
You will still recieve a mail, but it will say that you were tipped Zero credits.
Just one of the few reasons I keep my money as cash. If someone tips me cash, it says so on the screen, as well as how much. If someone banktips me, then I now have a balance in the bank. Quick trip and its cash again. I hate having two types of money since we don't have to corpse run anymore(I still wanna get corpse runs back!!).
Only time this puts me at a disadvantage is the rare occasion in which I need to banktip someone.

I hate the bank tip system. It used to give a system message saying you were bank tipped and the amount, just like a regular tip. But then they had to make the money go to escrow because too many bank tips were disappearing or just failing. /sigh

My friend got abused for playing a joke with this new credit dupe, He sent a fail bank tip stating that he sent 100 million credits to some random guy walking past!
The random guy freaked out thinking he was now tagged for having dirty money and started asking people what to do on the boards etc.
The vets calmed him down and told him it was clearly a fake as you cant tip anyone more then 1 million credits.
My friend apologized as he had no idea that guy was going to freak out so badly.

Yeah, thankfully they fixed that whole bank tip scam. Now when I get a bank tip email I read it first. So far no one has been dumb enough to try to scam me.

Also in the past a bank tip email came from the person sending it- the 'fake' bank tip would involvejust cut&patseing the normal message into an email and sending it. The system was changed to have the email come from 'bank' because of the scammers.
