hey. just thought i'd pass the info along. i was digging around in my moms basement, when i found my old record collection( note: i mean vinyl) fount the original two record set of the Star Wars Soundtrack. as well as Christmas in the stars. the holidy record featuring r2 and 3po..... i'm now looking for sites that deal with care and restoration( if possible) of old vinyl. Would love to be able to listen to them again...

I can't say I know of any places that deal with restoration, but if you do manage to get them restored I highly suggest hooking up a turntable to your PC and ripping (well, recording really) those to your hard drive and then making a CD.

I burned my father's 200 album collection of records (I also mean vinyl hehe) to CDs. They're classic albums, and it's really nice to have backups in case anything happens. Especially backups that preserve the classic crackling sound of a vinyl album!

thanks for the advice... i wish i was a little less rough with the christmas album though...

Capt Have same set Sealed. Prob is the Decay of the Older materials used in the Making of the Vynal. Contact the Smithsonian in the Us they have a Wealth of knowledge in this. Congrats on a rare find indeed. If you find the SW record that came in the Buger chef Kids meal youll own Sony with the Price on its head.

Nice treasure... but I guess even that couldn't make me feel like playing a star wars game anymore... somehow the only song I have to think about when playing this game is the Saga begins from Weird Al Yankovic...

I had a friend who wanted to move many records to computer. I went to BUY.COM and bought a record player [standalone] with RCA outputs that can be plugged into a computer. It was well worth the investment.
