Now I guess the slicing gods could just be toying with me , but that seems signifigant enough to me to show a pattern.

I was thinking that maby when slicing armor the game rolls a dice for the slice, 10% to 40%, and then anything from 10-35% has a 50-50 chance of being effectiveness or encumberance, but any rolls over 35% automatically go to encumberance.

Is there any truth to what I've been thinking here? Or is my sample just showing a statistical anomoly?

While I don't think its coded, I do tend to get alot of encumb slices as well and feel your pain

When I was talking to GreenMarine at the summit, we talked about about slicing and it's randomness. It was based on a 50/50 dice roll to get one thing or another. Then it just picks a # within that category.

i dont do alot of slicing but when i do i get way more enc slices than effect. i have very poor luck with the % anyway, my bad luck being the main reason i dont slice much.....

i'm getting the reverse effect. roughly 70% of my armor slices are effectiveness slices. it's so consistant that i have people that come back to me when they want effectiveness specifically. but on the otherhand, since a week after getting slicing 4 i haven't got many slices over 23% either (that first week almost every slice was 25%+)

my weapon slices have been pretty consistant in the fact that it's random... if that makes sense lol

the only slice i know is 100% consistant... containers. they always unlock

Statistical anomoly. Check out the results listed here—very minor variation between number of enc and eff slices.

Actually I did check the sticky first. I checked the "Important links, guides, faq's" message first, and followed it to the FAQ.

And it didn't seem to have the info I was looking for (weather there was a bias between enc and eff slices).

Thanks to all who actually replied with usefull info , thanks Caylin for clearing it up 100% for sure (now all we gotta hope is that the dev actually knew what he was talking about ).

Can't get much more clear cut then that info, tho I'll confess in my heart of hearts I still secretly think the slicing gods don't like me .

I got lucky the other night while slicing three T21 rifles for a guild mate. I got a 30% speed slice and then a 34% damage and a 30% damage slice.. making two T21 rifles with over 500 max damage. What people dont understand about randomness is when looking at a small pool of numbers it can easily look like one thing is happening a lot more than others but overall it should come to about 50-50.
