beyond slicing there is absolutely no content for smugglers in the game
they are useless at combat
virtually every spice they make is useless, ok there is one or two good onesbut unlike food and drink there
are negative consequences for taking spice surely the biggest risk should offer the biggest reward?
not a flame, just an observation
go on cry some more and take your frustration out on me if it makes you feel better about your profession

Try Smuggler / Musician like me ... I'm pretty sure smuggler is in fact useless in combat ![]()
I mean...you've got other combat skills to fall back on.

This is the wrong question... it should be " Why not Smuggler? "
This profession attracts a certain type of player. Look around the other profession forums, then come back and check this one out. Notice the difference? It's really hard not to notice.
The Smuggling profession may not be anything special at the moment, but the Smuggler players are.

As of right now, I have read that spice pushing is useless, which to me sounded like a fabulous idea for missions. Also, slicing is glitched, but is being fixed (thankfully). But aside from those flaws, what are the benefits to being a smuggler? Do you get to do cool smuggling missions pushing spices and weapons? Or is it just a nice tag to have hanging over your characters head?

Why Smuggler?
I ask myself that every time I open the skills window. I have shot a couple people in the crotch, sliced a couple items here and there, sold some faction points and a couple crates of spice, but it's often hard to justify the skill expenditure.
I am a Smuggler because I like the potential of Smuggler, and really, really hope the devs do something with it someday.
In the meantime, I will enjoy some of the special features we get, like selling junk to jawas and reading the leeku gossip from the Twis in the cantina.
