Alright, again I'll mention I quit the game for a long time and now I'm back. When I left the game cloning and insurance was busted so whenever you died there was no penalty and no corpse runs. The only penalty was if the closest facility wasn't the one you registered at, then you got wounds. There was no penalty for incap at all and nothing decayed when you died.
So what is the status today? Going on 2 weeks I've been back and I still haven't died (that's good!) But I still haven't been able to figure out the system first hand because of that.
Sorry to post non-smuggler stuff on this forum, but the Smuggler community is the best. =P

Insure, insure, insure.
And store your clone data in a place thats convenient for your activities.

I've tried to insure my stuff but it only lets me insure a few things.. usually clothing. The rest doesn't show up on the list. If I insure everything I can the insurance list just comes up empty.

If its already insured, or doesnot need to be insured, than it will not show up in the list.

Maybe I insured it all a long long time ago, but there's no (i) on it. Maybe I should just put all my stuff in the bank and let something kill me and see if that resets anything.

Not all items are insurable. For examole weapons are uninsurable because they do not decay on death. Instead they loose condition as you use them.
Just choose "Insure All" frome the insurance terminal. If the item doesn't show a "i" next to it that item doesn't take decay upon death.
It is also worthy to note that you don't take decay upon death in PvP.

Oh... well that probably explains it then. My guns were the things I wanted to insure the most. =D Thanks.

Anyone else having "you are too far away" issues with most/all cloning terminals? It's like the entertainer bug, but it doesn't seem to clear with a relog. I've run into it on Dath, Dant and Yavin.

Yeah, just target the Cloning Terminal and use the /clone command. That's worked for me.
