By delaying, debuffing, and "mezzing" enemies to remove them from combat or make them less effective.
A lot of the shots do this work, but some specials aren't working properly and many Smugglers feel we should have more crowd control abilities based on the original specs from the CU docs.
I lock enemies down with Concussion shot, debuff them with Overwhelming shot and go from there. I would like to see Low Blow and Panic Shot come in to play more in my combat technique, but I find myself using Warning Shot, Intimidate Shot and other Pistoleer specials instead for further debuffs.

Ive found these moves (the one's that work) to be great mixed with a damage temp. /shrug

So Concussion Shot is broken so there currently is no MEZ ability as I am reading this. It is a root.
I have been using Panic Shot constantly and never seen any delay in their attacks.
Restraining Shot snares them but since 90% of targets have ranged weapons this is of little use unless you are strictly hunting creatures. Especially as a pistol user there is no way you are getting out of range of their rifles.
Low Blow I am almost certain was just changed. I could have sworn it was a knockdown and now it is just "another" snare.
Reckless Shot is a debuff but that is not Crowd Control.
Just really wondering with the new upgrade what the heck they were thinking with this?

Well, if you get both ranged arms, your range will be increased by 15. Get a rifle, and shoot anything (particularly ranged) with concussion shot and root it at 66-80m away. They won't be able to shoot back, and can't move to get in range whilst you pummel them with damage. Easy, no? The only problem is when you throw healing into the mix there. It kinda screws it up. But hey, it wouldn't be a too bad way to hunt jedi now would it? Assuming that they're one of the three or four jedis on your server that DOESN'T have awesome defense and healing skills from jedi defender and healer, then it should work.

What is the "crowd" everyone is talking about? The only "crowd" in my "control" i found so far is Burst Shot. Amd that is in Pistoleer 
Crowd Control my ass.
One after another control, yes. But NOT Crowd Control.
