I think we ALL feel that way right about now.
I have an honest question to ask... when was the last time that a change in one of the patches turned out to be positive for smugglers?

I dunno but I sent a PM to ThunderHeart b/c in all my year of being a Smuggler, THIS is unacceptable.
I'm so tempted to cancel. Tired of broken promises of over a year, shown the tasty deserts but always pulled away at the last second.
So very close to cancelling. That is how livid SOE has me tonight.

Other than the obvious "because devs hate smugglers" line, why would they implement this new POS slicing thing? As far as I can tell, this wasn't any game-breaking issue (or an issue at all) & if I don't get a real response on this, I'm going freak out.

BTW, anyone know whatthe Correspondant Summit accomplished? I'm sure we'll hear about it soon...no, I'm not....so if anybody knows (such as Caylin) could we know what's going on with that(probably in a different thread)?

I don't understand what is the diificulty some people apparently have of double-clicking on a crate to get out a tool before slicing. It's not going to clutter up your inventory - you'll have four crates (clamps, knives, WUKs and AUKs). Click to get out the tools you need, do the slice and repeat. It takes an extra 5 seconds, maybe.
And I sure wouldn't trust a slice to someone who's in THAT much of a hurry, I'll tell you that.
Much ado about nothing, this sort of "tempest in a teapot" diverts attention away from the real issues that should be of greater concern to the Smuggling community.

Well about everything I can tell you really is in the 'Trip to Austin' thread.
The goal was not profession centered really but the entire combat revamp coming up after JTL. A great deal was accomplished and you should hopefully see some docs on that in a week or two. The correspondents and I are under a large NDA about it though.
I've been reminding them pretty often about the slicing thing when it was still on TC... Now it's live and I keep reporting it and other correspondents are backing me up. No response yet.

I don't understand why they should make the slice-process 5 seconds longer! I agree that is is no big deal, but as another dude said above....this wasn't a "wrong" / "bad" thing before....

Grr.. I had a nice elaborate post written out but when I hit submit something went wrong I guess because it went to the forum select screen and showed that I wasn't logged in. Oh well, here's the short version.
Tashkuna, it's not about the time or the space, it's about another broken dev promise. In fifteen days it makes exactly a year since Q-3PO told us that Smugglers were the profession "in need of the most love" and that Green Marine was being "devoted" to work on the issues with our profession. Since then, they've pulled him off to work on Jump to Lightspeed, which isn't wrong except that nothing positive has happened with our profession... that is unless you count being able to travel across the Tatooinan desert to sell stuff to Jawas for an amount of credits that can be considered mediocre only by the very generous to be a postive thing to happen to smugglers everywhere. Barring our "wonderful" ability to trade with Jawas, all the publishes that had anything to do with us have introduced bugs like this crate thing or nerfed our already anemic combat abilities. And there was of course the Imperial Crackdown which almost gave the game a "smuggling feel" to it but blew that by letting any Imperial move illegal goods.
Our revamp has been pushed back little by little to accomodate: the Droid Engineer Revamp, the Chef Revamp, two publishes devoted to the Jedi Revamp, Jump to Lightspeed, The Combat Balance, and possibly now the Galactic Civil War Revamp.
To have promised us "attention soon" months ago and then later come out and say that our profession won't be fixed till sometime after next March is completely unacceptable. To have more bugs that affect only smugglers being introduced to the live servers when they already knew about them on Test Center and even promised to fix them is just making everything else all the more grating.
I, for one, don't feel very "loved."

They may have been trying to fix the autopull problem with knives that resulted in the whole knife getting used when you autopulled one instead of just one charge, or it could have been an unintentional bug introduced from some other system. However, this was a known issue over a month ago (see Caylin's post), and nothing has been done to 1) address it publicly, or 2) fix it. Either way, the developers' apathy toward smuggler issues is absolutley appalling.

I agree, but who honestly is still surprised by that anymore? It's what I've come to expect from the Devs. They've been stalling us, putting it off and making excuses. This particular issue is so minor in comparison to the fact that we have a Master box that does nothing, an entire tree that's useless for Neutrals, and any of the dozens of other issues we've been talking about for a year... I'm surprised anyone's getting that worked up about it when there are so many other, more important concerns.

It takes you five minutes to double click on a couple of crates? Wow, I'd get your manual dexterity checked...

I'm not talking about pulling stuff from crates. I'm talking about slicing sets of armor or several weapons. I'm sorry if you've never done bulk orders.
