Thread: Can you guys ask to be able to slice grenades in their factory crates?

I wish you guys could slice an entire factory crate of thermal detonators all in one shot without any of them being removed from the crate. That way my commando care could pull out an already sliced thermal detonator from the crate and use it. Of course, I guess that assumes that grenades can be sliced at all. Thermal detonators have better armor piercing than proton grenades and are considered superior even tho they have less damage rating. Sorry to butt in, just had a wish list item.

We can slice em' individually....

I think he knows that, he just wants us to be able to slice an entire crate so he doesn't have to pull them all out and have them in inventory individually just to have them sliced.

Probably not going to happen because slicing is pretty much an individual thing, so each grenade will have to be sliced, just like each gun or armor piece has to be done individually. Also, crates are an item themselves, and not actually a weapon or armor, so no slicing.

Finally, it definitely won't happen because it would be actual work performed on the Smuggler profession and we all know that's a no-no.

That could really be a double edged sword. It would be a pain to slice a full crate for an 11% slice. On average, I think you would see better results individually. However, the space savings would be a big bonus.

I don't think I'd push for this for this reason alone. All the slices would be identical on that crate.

That would be too powerful indeed.

LOL, people still use grenades? How quaint.

How about with just grenades we can slice them and place them back in the crates. Can that work? It'd be tedious I'm sure, but if slicing the crate isn't an option then we should be able to put the grenades back in the crates after slicing them right?

What's so funny about that? IMHO, Grenades make a lot more sense than everyone running around with swords and composite armor.

Grenades are very underestimated, they are ideal for throwing at jedi, I hit one for jedi for 1300 with a 35% damage sliced thermal det. Lemme put it this way, he utilized forcerun at that point

Very true....

If this were to be implemented, then what would stop the Weaponsmiths or Armorsmiths or just anyone with a crate of high quality T21s from getting the whole crate sliced for 35% damage and then reselling at an incredible rate. I guess we'd have to have the randomness taken down a bit but the point is still there.....

I've heard a jedi can deflect a beam from a laser weapon but can not swat a grenade. Looks like Jedi need to learn the game of baseball.

Also, gernades give 100% combat xp unless you pull another weapon. I believe everyone can use C12s to level the any combat tree that requires combat xp. Kill a savage quenkeer with a gernade -- 3K+ combat xp.

On putting them back into crates, I would be a crate is handled just like a stack of any other item. If all of the stats are not exactly the same, they will not stack. It appears a crate is just a single set of stats with a quantity attached.

I would be happy just being able to consolidate partial crates from the same run of an item. It seems way too often I have 3 crates of the exact same tools that have already been opened with a quanity of 3, 10, 12 etc. I'd love to combine that into one crate of 25.
