I was looking at the smuggler page(almost a novice smug) and the xp is soo outrageous ill need to pick up pistoleer just to do it! Why the hell should I have to pick up another class just to play one that is prety broken anyway! I swear that if they dont downgrade the xp, or make it easier for people with only pistols 4 to get good xp, im ganna quit this game, I cant wait to see SOE's face when WOW comes out...

If you realy wanted to be a smuggler the pistolxp shouldn't matter.

If you cant stand the heat just getting to be a Smuggler, don't even start. The reality of being a Smuggler, especially us Master Smugglers is such that with the recent publish, I believe we will be a rare profession in the weeks to come. However if you enjoy playing a great profession to roleplay in the Star Wars universe, this is one of the best profs to do it in, just dont expect to be able to fight well without other combat profs.

Also to help grind pistol xp, get good armour, good buffs goto the Geno caves, find where the Jedi are grinding and switch on you auto target and fight macro, and xp shall be yours. Enjoy

The problem with it is,1 million + pistol xp gets you practically nothing. I am only now finishing Underworld, becuase I was always maxxed out in skill points, and for awhile I was hologrinding. I felt my skill points were better used elsewhere, but now I just want to go back to mastering smuggler.

Bleh, if you think the Pistol XP required to get to Master Smuggler is hard, don't even try to get to Master Pistoleer. I can get really really REALLY tedious killing all those Pikets or Rancors or Klikniks or whatever. Atleast the end result is worth it when you finally hit Master

I got my pistol XP from normal missions with friends and it didn't took me a long time because my friends let me kill em all....

So gather up with some friends and take a lot of missions "alone".

get a fwg5 and kill 7spawn bol bolle lairs..its the best i can offer. i realize as u do that u get zilch for pistol mods out of all the freakin xp you have to grind. 1 decent shot..last ditch, well who cares...it isnt efficient unless you are a master pistoleer with speed and accuracy mods, atleast in pvp if you want to be competitive with the template.

I pvp alot, and i give up the skillpoints that could be going into helping my faction in the fight...but i really like the idea behind the profession and what smugglers do...slicing is pretty fun, even tho i believe the desired slice shouldn't be so random. I think they should add pistol speed, or some other important mods that would entice the idea behind all the pistol xp you have to earn to be a smuggler. cmon, han solo was a fast gun, and accurate...so the two professions should be a lil more complimentary to eachother when both are mastered.

o well, smugglers an unfinished profession...i mean look at the master box, then compare that to the master box of any other profession...what do u get for smuggler, absolutely nothing.

422K Pistol Experience the other day in one buff session. Finished with 6 minutes left on my buff.

I do have Novice Pistoleer and Pistol Melee Defense move though as well. I got a really good DX2.

The prob with adding pistol mods is that It would put a MPistoleer BH pistol 4 and smuggler dirty fighting 4 way over the top, they would have Rifle like damage and accuracy, with pistol defensesHighest among rangedI wish it weren't so, but thats it. With that template you can spam last ditch and torso shot at the speed cap.

Smuggler was my first profession mastered (still have it ) and I thought the grind was murder. But that was pre-buffs. Now with buffs, you can get all the pistol xp in a few hours time at the geo cave. It ain't bad. Shoot, I did all of pistoleer with buffs in 10 days... and that was without powergaming. It's not so bad. Really, though, if you just wanna grind it out, you're not going to enjoy it... part of the fun is the journey. Just kill some stuff and have fun!
