I didn't for about a whole year now; I just told them in spatial or tells.

However, after the new "have to pull the tools" patch I got a tell from someone wanting some slices on test (And, yea I bugged it and posted ina bug thread onautopulling). So, I said sure I'll slice some, and he showed up with a backpack full.

Nice...another big order AND I have to pull the tools. So, I think this is going to take some time, and I tell him that. At this point I thought, hey forget chat just log the results and mail them to him. I opened mail, clicked on new, and then closed everything but the inventory window and the new message.

After a long wait for him and a bit of:

armor piece % enc

armor piece % eff

weapon % dam....

I mailed him the results and then traded up. Needless to say it was recieved and well appreciated. So who else does it this way, or was I the last to catch on?

Hadn't really thought of that but that is a good way of advertising. They'll remember who you are.

I tend to only slice for guildies these days, but I've been doing this for a while now. Mainly because they add me as admin to their houses and leave a bag in there containing stuff for slicing, and they are not always on when I slice it.

Yes, I gmail all slice results, (excluding locked container contents; I don't even look at that), with WPs to my shops. Anything under 20% I do not charge for--most times my clients usually tip another 5K or so, esp if I get a nice slice for them. They really appreciate the gmails....

(One of my first clients asked me to gmail the results and I just continued to do it...)

Great idea!

I've stopped telling people what the slicing results are unless they ask. I feel like it contributes to the cheapening of what smugglers do. No matter what we do to the item, it's better when we hand it back. Besides most of the time the customer already has a good sense of what the item stats are and can easily see the slice's effect.

I treat big bulk orders the same way. Even if I gave the customer a list, there is still no way for them to connect the information to a specific item. The customer will still have to examine every one to determine which is best. The results of big batch runs like that are always the same - a few 30%+, a few 25%+, a bunch of 20-25% and a few below 20% - split nearly equally between speed, effectiveness and or encumbrance.

I'm sure your providing a great customer service however and the gmail system is a great way to do it. Very smart.

I have always sent gmails with my slice results. I set it up like a receipt. I list the item and slice in order I did them then total up the cost per item, and a total cost at the bottom. Then add in any other info I may want to include and thank them for the business...

It works well!

Havn't sliced since pub 10, but, for big orders street slicing, I use groupchat.

That's a great idea...Somewhat OT, but I'm trying to figure out what to slice full sets of armor for. My base price is 7k a unit. If they offer me 2 or 3 peices of armor I treat it like 2 or 3 weapons. I'm not sure if I should discount or charge more. I've just been charging 45k, for the moment. Some of those will probably turn into repeat business, so I doubt I'd ever charge them more than that if that becomes that case. New customers though, I might. I really need to make that pricing macro I've been meaning to!
