Question for all you master smugglers. I'm using 80% WUKs when I slice weapons and am averaging 16 to 25% on ALL of my slices... the highest I have seen is 28%. I'm smuggler 0410. Now, if the material used in slicing isn't supposed to matter, how come a friend of mine (I'm using her WUKs) averages 30s on her slices and I can barely average low 20s??? I use clamps on all my slices... I thought the qual of clamps/laser knives wasn't supposed to matter... if not, then what else could be going wrong???? This is very frustrating and making me want to abandon the smuggler trade which I love.

Is your friend a master smuggler? Master smugglers can get up to 35% on weapons.

Was she slicing armor? Because slicers (non-master smugglers with slice 4) can get higher than 30% slices for encumbrance on armor.

Yeah, there's no way she can be "averaging" 30 on weapons at just slicing 4, because 30 is your cap at that level. Armor maybe.

To put it bluntly, slicing is CRAP at anything less than Master Smuggler. I wouldn't even slice my OWN gear until I hit Master. The improvement in average slice is HUGE. If you're averaging in the low 20s, you're doing pretty good at Slicing 4 to be honest.

And yeah, quality of slicing equipment makes NO difference. My runs of great slices and horrible ones have happened with fully experimentd 90%+ knives, wuks, auks, and clamps. I make all my own gear and always max it out just because I can. It doesn't matter one lick.

If ANYTHING has any influence on slicing (and it's still never been proven) it MIGHT be the resource used to make the stuff. I notice my runs of high and low averages seem to coincide with me switching copper batches. But who knows? Until anyone proves it without a doubt, I still say...

SLICING IS COMPLETELY RANDOM NO MATTER WHAT AND DON'T EVER LET ANYONE ELSE TELL YOU OTHERWISE.

are you sure those werent allready sliced before the slice update came?

no they could have been but i didnt see anything in the description

the slicing update removed the sliced Tags from the items. only way to see if the item is sliced right now:The slice interface wont pop up when you choose slice.

these ones popped up with the slice tag in the radial menu but they may have been sliced before i know the T21 was pretty old
