So once upona time in a galaxy far, far away SWG was a great game, and then the Jedi came. Other than the obvious fact that has been brought up countless times about the number of Jedi that were running around the galaxy at this point in "galactic history" they have to be thewhiniest bunch of sissies I've ever met. This isn't saying all Jedi are bad just 99% of them. And what does SOE do????? Well they give and give and give to the Jedi and screw everyone else. Now I am not a smuggler but every patch and update has something to do with making Jedi better than before, but it's never enough.

Now when I started playing SWG I loved it and now SOE has really made it suck. As a fan of Star Wars (OT) it has become an insult to what I grew up watching. We all pay to play this game but it seems some have more rights than others and that is nothing but BS. If LucasArts had any kind of integrity to their fans they would yank SOE from this project and start fixing all the BS to the story line.

Will I get banned for this? Maybe. Do I care? Not really since it is obvious that many cannot take any kind of criticism and the right of free speech doesn't apply here. We all shuck out our money and for over a year I have watched my childhood joy be ripped apart and foully violated just to make a quick buck. Well the truth is my account expires soon and I won't be coming back, and for all those who ask if it is a good game I can only say..

Once upon a time holo's came.

Jedi and the ability to become Jedi was still closely guarded which kept them rare. Never forget that it was SOE/LA that did this to the game as an obvious marketting ploy. They are responsible for the Jedi explosion and continue to promote it with the constant fixes to that profession while others get ignored.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Perhaps you are right friend, and perhaps LA is more responsible than SOE since they hold the rights. And if every player wanted to be a Jedi that would be one thing but there are how many proffesions? Not everyone wants to be a Jedi. Just it has become such a disappointment to play this game.

I can tell you one HUGE thing... LA is just as, if not more than, responsible for the state of the game as SOE is. Nothing can go in without LA's approval. The overall game and the direction it heads is in the hands of LA. It's up to SOE to make it happen. Unfortunately it appears as neither is particularly good at getting their end right.

I agree not everyone wants to be a Jedi. I'm going to let you in on something that's may rile a few people around here up. I've been FS since a week after the new system went live (I didn't do the hologrind for multiple reasons), and I'm sitting on my last mission to become an initiate. I haven't rushed out to become Jedi, hell, I don't even know if I want to become one. I'd rather smuggle any day. But now here I am, sitting on one final, easy mission, and all the xp I need to swing a laser sword. I may not want Jedi more than I want Smuggler, but I may do it just to have something to do.

Jedi is not so much the number disappointment of this game, but it is a focal point and indicative of all that is wrong with this game's management.

As for the snot's that play Jedi, once again I point to the controlling powers. They attracted them to the game with their tactics. They created them with their greed. Their greed will be theireventual downfall when they realise there are no more gimmicks left that will attract enough new players to replace the departed veterans that they have alienated with their incompetance.

Well let me share a secret with you as well.....(hehe I to have been FS since they changed the requirements) but I prefer simply to roam with my pets and see it there is infact any place I haven't been yet.

I just wish my Jedi in games such as KOTOR were as all powerful as the Jedi here cause it seems a blaster shot to the head kills me just as quick as it would if my character wasn't a jedi.

But I agree with what you say and still if LA had any integrity to the fans who watched the OT growing up this game would be better. But it doesn't really matter to me anymore, I'll stick to offline LA games which will never change but also never get worse.

I just felt that I rewally needed to say something, I know that they don't care about one person, hell they don't even care about the whole smuggler community, but i felt as though I had a right to say I though the game sucked before i go spend my money somewhere else (and I promise SOE it won't be on any of their games)

Actually, this is the only SOE or LA game I will ever again own. This game will more than likely be the last MMOG I play since DDO is gonna have to really knock my socks off the play it.

Simply put, at this point I look at this game as an investment. It may have been a bad one, but I've already sunk enough money into it to stick around for at least a little while longer, but never again will I trust either of those companies to put out a product that I am willing to invest in ever again.

So far I have enjoyed the LA games I do own. And yes they do tend to focus on Jedi at least it isn't annoying. I really enjoy KOTOR and KOTOR2. And have a lot of the older games like dark outcast and Jedi academy which I enjoy playing from time to time. Which is why SWG is such a disappointment to me, LA can make good games. Ah well what does it matter. They don't care about anything but their paycheck.

Capt_Baobob has said maybe later he'll join COV and well I am his wife so maybe I'll tag along. Or I may go Auto Assault, we'll see, just we won't be coming back here. Any chance they will fix the smuggler profession is so infinitesimal and even if by some miracle they do, it will be to little to late

It isn't about the online or offline games really, it's about trust. Let me put it this way, you invest money in a business that says you're going to recieve a certain return on your money. If you don't see that return, why reward them by investing in them again with a different product or proposal.

At this point, I'm nearing my breaking point where it will be time for me to cut my losses and walk away. I feel that I've invested enough in time, money, and friendship to stick around a little while longer to see if I'll ever get the return on my investment, but never again will I trust either of those two companies to provide what they're saying I'm supposed to get.
