Thread: How often does FD fail?

I was thinking of picking up FD 1 for feign death on my alt who hunts nightsisters a lot. My question is, with DF1, how much does feign death fail? Back when I was a smuggler it never seemed to fail at all but im getting reports of it now. So to anyone who dabbles in DF1, how often does it succeed and when it fails what happens? and can I just hit it again to make it work.

As long as you have the HP's not often. In fact I can't remember a time where it DID fail on me...

For me it wasn't too much of a problem with failing against 1 opponent at just DF1, but when I was against multiple opponents I found it failing pretty often. That was just my observation but I have *no* fact to back that up.

Yeah I still not sure if their is a problem, its never happend to me unless I didnt have the HAM for it.

Never failed for me at master. Just remember there is a bit of a delay until it kicks in.

do you need to be holding a pistol to use FD or can I have out a VK

You can have out a VK and use it, the only time it fails on me is when I get hit really hard by something that can clean out my HAM in a couple of hits. Like tusken observers...i hate those guys. I know this has nothing to do with post but one hit me for 13,200 points of dmg with adv strafe shot 2 or something like that. Cleaned out my health, action, and about 2/3 of my mind.

I've never seen it fail. I just clear my que then spam it. Sometimes you get incapped then FD kicks in. If yI'm not clear by 1/4 HP and mobbed by NPC's I start FD'ing, sometimes it takes a sec to FD or Lag.

I've had it fail a bit at DF1... almost never at DF2 and above. I can't remember it actually 'failing' since I've made master. however, it sometimes doesn't work. It isn't that it 'fails', it is that you succeed, but still keep getting hit, taking damage, never actually feign. I had a fight where I feigned 3 times, got the success message, little symbol in my HAM bar, finally got run down and killed, never once having dropped to the ground in an actual feign. But again, this is FD being broken, not actually failing.

Its been my observation that FD tends to work better against NPCs than it does against PC.
For some reason when fighting a player character it tends to lag , resulting in you becoming incappd before FD kicks in.
FD will often lag when dealing with both scenarios, but as Master, i've never had it -fail-.
