And let me just say this before you ask:
There is no special content for Smugglers in JTLS. There is also no special things that you can do as far as being a smuggler. No smuggling materials or anything like that. Personally I think that's pretty much b.s., but then again anything can change in the future.
And yes, you can pilot the Firespray.

The YT-1300 is a Neutarl Master ship ... there is another multi-player for Rebel and another one for Imperial.
I must say the Imperial one (Decimater...see anniversary paintings) looks very Imperial (especially interior).
Each multi-player ship currently holds 75 items.
Droids/fligth computers ... you can only use certain droid data-modules in space based on your pilot skill level.
- I bought the following droids to prepare for space(going rebel)
- 5 Astromechs ... one for each data module level 1-5 (nothing else)
- 1 R-3 Advanced (fully loaded with a level 6 data module)
I will still need a level 4, 5, and 6 flight computer that can't be crafted yet.

oh ... and currently the multi-player ships take up 1 lot each (including veteran)
(may be a little off, but that is the general idea ... I haven't played with that enough to be totally clear)
I plan on having an X-Wing, B-Wing & Anniversary ship (SWEET A$$ SHIP) ... what better smuggler ship than one that CAN'T BE BLOWN UP? (they are still fixing that)

Hopefully they will make the beta forums viewable... there is quite a bit of information to go through there.

Also another little tidbot about Multi-passenger ships, that I can see turning into a major issue in the future, is that the pilot of these ships cannot fire blasters while piloting. You need to relay on another player to use the turrets.
So for all of you that hope to live in your YT-1300, I would not count on that right now. They are basically sitting ducks in space with out other players helping you out.

And a lot of it bad by either being confusing, misguided or simply outdated. They'd really be hurting themselves more then helping by simply opening it up to the public. (not that they don't appear to like hurting themselves with things like this).

Probably just be better to prompt the correspondents to repost the FAQs they've been working on (where needed) and have each of the staffers post a short (2-3 paragraph) summary of how they got to where we are with each of the parts of the game (dogfighting, ui, ship parts, clothing, etc. etc.).

However...if you become a Privateer pilot, you can join the Smuggler's Alliance and run smuggler-type missions. But this does not require you to actually BE a Smuggler.

I personally like the specials (and ships) for rebels more than neutral.
The ability to repair yourself vs. the ability to run faster
The running faster is a nice idea, but when loot quality can overpower this special so easily ... and if you are quick enough on hyperspace, then it negates the need for that special.
This way I can do /erepair & /hyperspace ... to hopefully survive.

And so we bring up the thing that still has me completely ticked off...
There is some smuggler content actually. At Underworld I you can understand a few of the aliens running the starports who don't speak basic. There are also dialog options that ask for smuggler type content with those space stations, but they tell you the imperials are too strong at the moment and to try back again in a couple months.

Gasp, acknowledgement of our existence. I suspect treachery.
