Thread: Who Thinks Smuggler, Bounty hunter and Pistoleer Shouldhave holsters???? So lets hear some Ideas!!!!

Basiclly I think this Is a missing part of the game so I want to hear some peoples creative ideas for holsters. Types what skills you can use with them (quick draw) stuff like that.

What should a holster do?
Well I got some ideas:
- the holster is technically a equiped container, you drop your pistol in it
- hitting a pistolattack (in case you are unarmed or have another weapon in hand) autoequips the pistol(s) (if dual-wielding) and fires
- this could reduce the weaponswitch-timer related to your pistol-speed, the more pistol speed the faster you quickdraw
- alternative a /quickdraw command is thinkable, especally if you wear more than two holsters (classical hip, under the arms, back, legs...)

i agree that would be pretty cool, but, for now, i think there are far more importants things to think about, don't you?

hmmm......good in theory but look around...everyone is always equipped w/ their weapon...now we hear a ton of people complain on how swg is nothing like the movies (...its a game) but what about all the players just running around with weapons in hand? would be cool if there were a penalty for running around a city with the weapon equipped, then players would have to diarm when entering a city.the holster quickdraw thing would be very sweet at that time 
the idea of reducing weapon switching time for those professions is a sweet idea though!!

Of course, but those won't get done either, so let's just have some fun. Personally I always wanted the option to have dual pistols and have them in two holsters on the front of my belt. Thus I can be a certified Space Cowboy. If there were skills for a holster, then a novice person should get an occasional misfire, shoots toe, -100 action.
"Running around town with weapon equipped". That's funny cause I think about it all the time. I guess it's my role-playing nature to stow my weapons when I enter a city. I cover as a dancer, and it's funny to see people dancing with their staffs in hand. Waiting for a message , (Dancer) pokes (Innocent Bystander) in the eye.

Yeah, that is something to fix to... weapon-laws. Nobody cares on Tat (as long as your not in Bestine), but on Naboo there would be more likely a blaster bolt through your head.
Ever did the lyric dance with a LVA? You would slaughter half the audience and other entertainers, not to mention all the broken furniture...

I would simply enjoy having a holster as a new type of belt, no bonus, no use... it would be cool enough for me to drop my psg

I think EVERYONE should have holsters or sheathes, dependant on the weapon. I think it should be possible to have MULITPLE bandoliers to store weapons on that show, and be absolutely loaded for bear. But that's just me.

As a smuggler I am always amazed when I am scanned for contraband while wheeing a full suit of sliced armor and a geo pistol in hand and i get the this ones clean move along mesage. The Sea of Composite would be quite differnt if when scanned you had the local police attack you in force (think corsec guys from the vette) for coming into town armed like your about to attack an AT AT squadron.

I would have to follow this line of thought.
Holsters I've never believed to be smuggler specific. They are just belts where you can put guns or a wide variety of other weapons.
If I remember right the technical limitations were the main limitation to a 'real' holster for our weapons. So going with the belt approach is something I would agree with.
As it would replace a PSG though, I'd be pretty favorable for it to enhance weapon skill mods when worn, but that's just me.

I love the idea. I would like to add an idea for a speed bonus to the first shot. You could have crafters make them, the better they are, maybe an attachement slot for pistol speed. With holstered pistols cities could hold gun fight tournaments.

I like the idea of using holsters. For each pistol related profession you get to use one. Lets say Master Pistol you get to use one, Master Pistol-Master Smuggler you get to use two (Cowboy stlye). In the movie Han had one and the BH hand one.
Will make us look cool, and yes people shoud get penalties for carry thier weapons around.

You know, holsters would be cool... what would be cooler is if they could be bio-enhanced with pistol speed or something. Quickdraw indeed
