and I just went up to the smuggler trainer and he made me a smuggler. Cool I thought.

Later on as I was grinding out container slicing I was thinking... "Isn't that odd that a smuggler trainer is just out in the open with nothing to hide." He made me a smuggler, when in fact I could have been with the "fuzz". He didn't know me. I didn't have to prove anything to him.

Does it seem funny that the roguish type class of SWG would just be out in the wide open with nothing to fear for taking up smuggling as a profession?

I'm not trying to be weird or anything just passing along an observation. Playing a roguish type in other MMORPGs always seemed pretty cool. I'm just wondering if Smuggler fits that bill I guess.

What's even more funny are thesmugglersstandingin front of 200 people at the starport YELLING that they are offering illegal services, and the customers running around yelling "Looking for a slicer!". It would be like running through a train station yelling "Looking to buy illegal drugs and weapons!".

This just proves that smugglers are the same as any other class offering services to the population. We can perform our services out in the open without any fear of retribution from players or troops.

Maybe if we could only slice items in cantinas or camps it might make it seem more devious. I mean there are things docotrs can only do in a hospital. We not have that with our class. it makes sense, but then instead of yelling outside starports they would be yelling in the cantina.

I don't know if any of you played EQ as a rogue, but man was it cool sneaking around Neriak with the mask. Knowing that you shouldn't be somewhere, but being able to. Or sneaking and hiding in that dungeon to survive out of it when the rest of the crew got wiped. That seems more roguely. I wish there was something to make me get that feeling by being a smuggler in SWG.

I like it when my crew is fixin' to get whiped out in a dungeon and I get to feign death. 'cuz they all die and I'm still around! Great bragging rights for a profession that (by itself) sucks in combat
