Do what you must my friend, but all I can say is that you have come this far, to surrender would mean you have wasted so much time. To seak for a reason to stay, or to enjoy the game, you WILL have to compromise and improvise my dear smuggler. Like me, I am working to become a master smuggler, beside from that I build armor to sell or for my guildies, others then that I hunt for my guild, corellia carn meat is really good right now, 20cpu. Join a grown up and serious guild, try some role play, You got 250 skill point for god sake, put it in some other prof and enjoy the game. This is another way for people to escape from the harsh of reality, don't give up and try to learn and try to love of what you have and keep on hoping that there will be a better tomorrow.

Roleplaying can make this game a lot more fun then it would be normally.

Dreven, I stopped evangelizing for this game along time ago and haven't played for some time (this is my firstpost since the Revamp delay) but since you asked...

This is what I've been telling myself:

1.) Let's see what dreams may come in the near future. Wait at least until the revamp goes live. I've been waiting for a long time as you have. Despite the recent date on my forum registration, I've been playing since launch day 2003 and I did leave once to be lured back with the help of my second fan-rationalization...

2.) $15.00 each month equals 50 cents each day. No one has big money to waste, but I can deal with this vice until the revamp comes. Even if I'm not playing.Call it the "Sally Struthers" spiel if you want. "For the price of your daily cup of coffee, you can sponsor this Third World MMORPG...." (okay so the daily cup has risen in price since that commercial, but you get me).

3.) Your "institutional knowledge", as Electricnomad put it, as a veteran is prized among your fellow smugglers. This, I concede, is a purely selfish reason, but it is a reason.

However, optimism and affordable prices aside, I'm dropping this if the Revamp doesn't satisfy. Bottom line. And I won't be asking for reasons to stay.

Hope you stick around a bit longer. If not, my respect goes with you.

Don't go bro.. Honestly I have not been playing as much as I usually do(work,gf, etc)but I still have alot of fun on the times I am on. I love my guild and the people I know in game. Between the Geo lab, the vette, and RIS hunting I can keep myself busy .Plus we you have to stay untill the devs give us a clear picture of our publish 11 revamp.

I'm afraid I do not have a good reason to give you, but I do have some minor advice:

The Revamp was delayed, supposedly for the good of making it a much better revamp. With waiting this long, why not wait until Publish 11 is announced, or at the very least wait until there is a clearer picture of what is to come.

If you decide to go ahead and cancel that is naturally your choice, and no matter what we say that decision will not be affected if you do not enjoy your time in game. If it comes down to it go ahead and cancel, just stick around the forums just a bit longer if you can...

Right now, I log in mainly fora couple cherished friendships I've made and my guild. Other than that, I am looking forward to the Space Expansion. I don't expect too much out of the smuggler revamp knowing the dev's track record. I am trying to keep my expectations low, lol

As long as my friendships remain intact, I'll never cancel. Although I probably would have, if it wasn't for them.

If you /cancel you can't come cry about it in the forum anymore.

Seriously though, If you aren't having fun, Cancel. Why pay for something you don't enjoy.

I am sick of people crying in the forum asking for all of us to come tell them to please stay.

My suggestions is simple.

DO IT.

Or, you can stockpile those locked containers on your vendor, in the bank, whatever and save them (in case it dumps the capped slicing XP) for coming back to smuggler at a later date.

I'm trying another profession atm, although all I was looking for out of SWG is to play the "Han Solo" type smuggler. I was sorely disappointed with the attempt SOE gave to making a smuggler class in SWG, considering the focus given in the SW movies and the marketing information that "plugged" smuggler in the SWG advertisements.

Have I been close to cancelling too? You bet. This is just my way of trying something different in SWG in hopes that the revamp is worthwhile. I stay right now for the friends I've already made and the new ones I'm making. I may just take a "break" and play more BF Vietnam while I wait....either way, I'll be here on the forums though.

Hey Dreven, I wish I could give you alot of reason here...

Reasons to Stay:

  • Friends in game and forum.

  • CoH has even less content than SWG.

  • Continued input and viewpoint toward the revamp.

  • Giving me a scapegoat when things go wrong

  • ...

Reasons to go:

  • Too many promises unfulfilled.

  • Little content that holds interest for any length of time.

  • Repetitive combat.

  • Being everyone's **edit** as a smuggler./

  • The jackasses in the game and forum.

  • 14.99 a month for something you don't have fun doing.

Reasons to go for now, and come back later:

  • Friends in game and forum

  • Save some money.

  • Forums are public so you can read changes.

  • You have my email if you need to relay something.

  • Smuggler revamp will be here someday.

  • Expansion could be cool.

...

Well I guess you can decide what is more important to you... Oh and Ata...Dreven has done more for smugglers than most people in this forum probably ever will, keeping him is something I consider high on my list of things to still have around when we go towards this revamp. It is his decision.

This is so cool, I have not seen any forum with this much of love like ours, hehehehehe. This is so cool, would hate to see a vet in smuggler prof go, but do what you must. You will always have my respect good sir.

Heya Dreven. I am of the same mind as a lot of people here - see what publish 11 has to offer. We've come this far, for the sake of another 30 to 45 bucks, stick with it until we see the revamp through. If the revamp doesn't satisfy, then do what you need to do.

It was sad to see Nomad and Solo go without the revamp ever being realized. But, their spirit was crushed, apparently, and Sony did all of us a disservice in the unfulfilled promised made since launch. They chose to speak with their wallet, and they have my respect for it. But you are one of the last of the old school, and those of us who are here now need your knowledge, reason, thought process and forthrightness. You've done a lot for us already, but there is still more work to be done till publish 11.

Stay because those of us that care are asking you to; we need your help, guy. Now more than ever.

If you're coming to us for answers your mind is probably made up, but...

um...

let me see what i can do to help change your mind...

um..

hmm...

what have i got around here...

oh i know...

want some free muon? I've got a pile of it right here

OK, OK. Cayln put it well. For me, I'm here cause I got a bunch of friends running around Bria and I'm still enjoying my time in game. I had to change things up a bit in terms of smuggling, because it just wasn't doing anything for me (now 0440) but I've used the extra skill points & time in template flux to change my habits up and break up some of the monotony (including musician for the last few weeks, hehe).
