Nobody has come right out and said officially if it's an exploit or not.

But if it sounds like an exploit, and you have to do strange steps to do it, then it MUST be an exploit.

So I wouldn't do it if I were you.

Only thing I can say that is what most of us normally say about this.

When slicinga weapon, there should only be these things going on.

  1. Attach Clamp/FAN (either is optional)

  2. Cut a wire

  3. Cut the other wire

  4. Slice expends a WUK

Anything other than that, which is the intended slicing method, you shouldn't do. Here are four facts for you to think about for powerupslicing.

  • SOE has stated that they will not post about Exploits(except to say that they've been fixed).

  • SOE has stated that in the game, subverting any system therein, or using any system therein any way other than the intended method is an exploit.

  • SOE has not commented on powerup slicing.

  • Powerup slicing is not using the slicing system the way it was intended.

You may draw your conclusions from that.

Oh, and AT-ST's cost 9500 faction points for Human Imperials, you just have to rank high enough to be allowed to get one. But just so you know, they're only good for raising mission difficulty(equivilent of a Creature Level 125). Yesterday, I and a friend of mine destroyed one. We were both in TKA mode and buffed, but we shouldn't have been able to do this, logically speaking. My current level in TKA is 0122 and she's a Master TKA(and Dancer) plus enough medic to stitch us up occasionally. It took less than the uptime of Muon for us to drop the sucker, and we had Swamp Troopers and Storm Troopers spawning in about every 45 seconds(I'd break off to deal with them, then return). I did get capped twice while out there, but she was never dropped. Heh, at least dizzy/knockdown doesn't work on them anymore. Anyway. I'm not saying don't get one, but just keep in mind what they are actually worth right now.

What you do will have to be your choice. Just make sure to weigh your choices wisely. Besides, you don't *have* to sell faction. It is a good source of money, but also tedious. Remember that its much easier and more profitable to sell faction at higher ranks, since the ratio for /delegate is much lower.

Example:

AWarrant Officer II decides to delegate 200 faction to Guy1 to let Guy1 join the Rebellion. 200 faction delegated to Guy1 costs the Warrant Officer II 400, because the ratio is 2.0:1, meaning every 10 points of faction a Warrant Officer IIgives to Guy1costs him 20.

A Colonel decides to delegate 200 faction to Guy2 to let Guy2 join the Rebellion. 200 faction delegated to Guy2 costs the Colonel 236 faction, beacause the ratio is 1.18:1, meaning every 10 points of faction a Colonel gives to Guy2 costs him 12(rounded up from 11.8).

If you decide to sell faction, don't bother doing it below the rank of Captain if you bribe NPCs for faction, its not worth the cost and time it takes to delegate small amounts of faction. However, if you aquire faction by means of farming NPCs of the opposite faction, then Warrant Officer I or higher should be good enough, though you'll have to crank your price up much higher than others will. Its much easier to wait till you hit the rank of Lieutenant Colonel or full Colonel to do so. Cheaper for you, cheaper for your customer.

Personally, my choice on all that faction would be to work on ranking. The higher your rank, the more faction you can hold at a time. Currently, faction caps at 10.1 multiplied by the ammount of faction over factional minimum it cost you to get the rank. I'll assume you're a Warrant Officer I for this, which would mean you spent 3500 faction to get your rank. Your current cap is 35 500 faction (10.1*3500=35 500).

Also, if you rank, you're capable of requisitioning more things. You're already high enough to get the walker if you desire. You're also capable of getting a decent sized faction base, if you want. Which will have its own factional mission terminal, defenders(possibly walkers, if large enough), its own recruiter from which you could sell faction if you wanted; plus, any money spent buying faction from a recruiter at a player base goes into the base maintainance.

Anyway, if that's not what you're interested in, holding onto faction for JtLS is a very viable and good alternitave, since they haven't said whether or not we'll have to requisition factional ship schematics, orwhat they'll cost if so.

Have a good one.
