I figured I had to do it, essentially to help Wes to pass some issues in a proper form, and for me to be sure to follow the dev cycle properly.
JtL is out and working, well almost working since I can see fixes everyday and bugs reported too.
What did it bring to the Smuggler brotherhood?
-
Smuggling missions available to every single player through the Smuggler’s Alliance from Tatooine. -
One Smuggler profession specific set of missions, that is the clone of one that is non Smuggler specific, and gives no reward apart from the fact you can use your language skill once in a while. This mission is not available for Imperial Smugglers. -
Insulting comparison between smuggling and Smuggling, the first being accessible to anybody, the second to nobody (but proudly bearing a big S). -
Any member of the Smuggler's alliance is called "smuggler" by ingame NPCs, which never occured to any "ground Smugglers". (Contribution of SmugglingZane)
The loot revamp has begun.
-
You can now loot some sort of short terms buffs for yourself, or you equipment that could have been some useful spices, but won’t be. -
You can loot a schematic to make some furniture with your spices skills (?!) -
We can expect some loot that can maybe become usable to add in some spices (yet to see).
Supposed being looked at.
-
It’s been 3 months since patch 10, and the crate-autopulling issue isn’t fixed, last time it was heard about, it wasn’t even assigned. -
It’s been 8 months since publish 7 and the spice downer change has still not been explained. -
It’s been 17 months since release and or skill tree is not properly documented.
Supposed being known.
- We still can’t open the locked Mag-Seals in the dunjeons, even thought they offer the opportunity to slice them in the radial menu.
-
We still have to close the color palette each time we slice a piece of composite. -
We still don’t have the possibility to buy a precise amount of faction points. -
We still wonder what can be the use of a Flow Analyzer Node. -
We still can’t refresh a mission terminal after slicing it without losing the benefit of the slice.
edited to addZane's contribution. Keep on feeding it with your issues i would like to post the whole post in next live issues ![]()

Take a look at my "I thought you all should know this" thread. You may want to add something to the report kgmkiorys.
By the way, keep up the good work.

And five stars for you, Kgmkiorys!
As I said in another thread, I think JFreeman's infamous post (Smuggling vs. smuggling) was due to the fact that he was on the spot and had to deal with the aftermath of SOE Management's lack of vision regarding Smugglers and their role in the game (and I do not hold a grudge against him for it -- I blame Management for this debacle, which we DID try to stop in JTL beta).
As for the spice downer change, thank you for bringing this up. I also wrote about this in another thread and basically this is what I said: the spice downer nerf of at least six months ago was NOT DOCUMENTED, did NOT appear in the release notes and was NEVER COMMENTED ON by SOE.
Our correspondent at the time (Caylin) was given "the answer" to our understandable, respectful, polite and numerous queries regarding this change ("Was this a BUG due to changes made to something else?" or "Is this change something that made Spices 'work as we intended'?") but was forbidden by SOE to tell us.
What kind of sense does that make? A huge change made to one of our biggest sources of income -- and it was the final deathblow to that source of income. How disrespectful can a company be of its customers? It makes NO sense whatsoever to keep this a secret. It is bizarre behavior to say the least.

This to me epitomizes the dysfunction of SOE with regard to how it communicates with its player base -- and specifically, the Smuggler player base. It is pretty twisted, to put it as kindly as possible. No wonder some of us have reached the end of our patience and have lashed out.
Well, I don't want to keep repeating myself, so I am out of here. Thanks again for this post.

I only intend to bring attention on what has been done and what has not been done.
And maybe it can become an interesting discussion with deciding red names since we all know it's useless to shoot the messenger, even though it's pretty much the only thing we have left.

Very nice post. I predict they focus on this kind of stuff well after combat revamp. Holidays are here. Folks are exhausted after the JTL pusch. Likely overdue and extended vacations are being taken. Expect it ... what ... sometime around June? Just trying not to get my hopes too high. You know, stay realistic and all.

don't know what they plan to do with all that, but it's in the live issue thread
No answers or reactions yet, but i even doubt they'll read it.

Very nice. I saw this posted on the daily bug thread as well.
Also, you have some competition, with the Joystick guy posting in every bug thread now, too.

Great list, Wes, maybe you could also pass along that my brithday's in may, and the present I want most from SOE is information about our prof revamp.

Wes? did they mention anything on the Cforums concerning some possible fixes in the near future or are we still the totally ignored profession, the one that speaking about is forbidden?
