I've been bored at work and reading other professions boards. Something that I came across was how terribly unfriendly certain other professions ( won't name names, but they use a glowing stick) act toward new players or players with those questions regulars here all the time. Now there is good and bad in every community, but I think we are cooooool. It is great how whena new smuggler or someone with smuggler related questions comes in we all just answer the question usually with a good luck or a wink. I can't tell you how many times I read "read the faq" "the faq would've been easier to click" "don't post this crap till you read the faq". That is just ruuuuude!!!!

So thank you, you swashbuckling gentlemen and ladies! It's cool to be cool to new players or people new to the professions.

I've noticed that too. What gives? Aren't we all supposed to be scoundrels, rogues and general ne'er do wells? Nah. I just play one on teevee.

As a new smuggler (novice at 0/2/1/2 and only started it Sunday) I have to agree. Very cool to get help without the BS. Of course I did read all the FAQ's first before posting any questions lol but that's beside the point.

I agree that some professions are quick to yell n00b and point to the FAQ. Not that we dont tell people to read the FAQ but rather we are overjoyed to see that people actually want to come to our profession even when we dont actually smuggle.

yup, I can understand posting a "read the faq" .... but if you are going to bother to post anything at all it's just simple courtesy to just go ahead and type the 5 or 6 extra words that would answer the question.

Smugglers are pretty good about that. "Yes Masters get a bonus in slicing, btw there is a stickied post in the forum that has all the answers to these sorts of questions" and even better smugglers are apt to go to the incredible effort to also include "welcome to the profession!"

Yeah, I think one of the things that made me decide to start this route over the weekend was it just seemed like something that would be fun to do. I know it's not really anything good for PvP but then I don't really have a great desire to do that since it seems like to be any good you have to be grouped with a few other people and then it's just down to how good your amor, buffs, food, and if you have a PSG. Anyway who knows, I'm planning on playing with the template website again when I get home so I may change a bunch of stuff again.

I heard from a Ranger friend that the Ranger community is a tight knit nice one too, but I haven't been there much. (I no longer have Ranger skills)

So far, all the time I gave a nod and a secret Smuggler handshake to someone I got ignored rflmao It might very well be tho because it happened at starports and it is sooooo easy to miss an emote, with all the insane spamming. Either that or I missed the reply because of the spam.

Anyway, love this forum, no doubt.

Yeah, the ranger forum is very cool. Because of that forum I decided to become a master Ranger...and because of this forum (especially chuckle for the smuggler) if I make an alt it will be a smuggler.
