Thread: First the entertainers, then the crafters.

Time to show a little love folks. For a long time we have been a partial crafting profession, even if we are losing our spice crafting in the revamp, as well as a largely social profession.

Recently I've noticed a couple things for both those types of profession.

Merchants had their skills trumped by a game feature/skill that wasn't even rooted in a skill tree.

We know what has happened to entertainers, but the devs say it is part of a bigger plan they are not talking about at this time.

We know what happened to the AS's in the CU, and they definitely deserved better.

Now ROTW has, IMO, backhanded every crafting profession in the game. Every single new item that came with the expansion is quest granted. Nearly every single item that is quest granted in the expansion exceeds the stats of player craftable items.

Where is the vision of a player driven economy? Where is the promise that, except for a very few items, player crafted equipment would always be better than looted ones?

As the gamemoves forward, do us all a favor and stand on the side of these professions.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

After being teased, and neglected, it's easy to feel empathy for our brothers and sisters who are getting, what looks like at this point, a raw deal.

Actually... this thing is starting to piss me off even more since the ARC and the Jedi starfighter are faction related quests...

In other words, shaft the neutrals again.

I think there are plans to make those two quests open to everyone.. and if there aren't, there will be many loud objections.

Zane; "...but the devs say it is part of a bigger plan they are not talking about at this time."

Uh huh, and I believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, and a world where cotton candy and gummy bears grow on trees.

Like we're really suppose to believe that the nerfing of crafters and entertainers was ANYTHING but expedience on their part?

And, like our revamp, they will be 'fixed' "soon"? *rolls eyes*

Oh well, I'm having fun in GW atm, with an occasional forray into SWG to equip myself with the butt-ugliest pistol in the known galaxy!

You know I was going to complain about GW's 'terrain' as it is mostly inaccesable with narrow strips where you can move. Then I played Wookie World and it seems likeSOE had the same idea. I really HATE that they did that to Wookie World, one thing I liked most about SWG was the ability to move over nearly all of the landmass. Is this going to be a trend in on-line games? Forcing players to move along pre-arranged paths through the world? Almost like an interactive movie that really isn't all that interactive...you have a limited number of paths from point A to point B.

Thanks loki... haven't been able to find any info on that one yet.

Still messed up they are totally loot and not loot schematic though.

Yeah details on it are schetcy, All I know so far is that the quest starts by talking to a girl on a space station, I'm guessing its the Khsyaak one but I haven't had a chance to test it out.

Might give me a reason to but my Rihk away for a little.

Actually, the sort of correlated quests there are the Heavy X-Wing, Imperial Guard Interceptor, and the Vaksai Fighter. Privateers can pick up the Vaksai by running the quest that starts out of Kashyyyk station. It's a pretty neat little ship, basically a modified Kihraxz with 150K mass, but the final mission to get it's pretty rough.

QFE to show support as I'm too tired of pointing these things out already... all those things shouldn't be problems at all, since there's exactly the same amount of work involved in creating a system that doesn't hurt non-combat professions, you just have to think for a minute before designing it.
