I read that slicing was broken completely, but I had to be a smart alec and try to slice my ubese armor bracerlast night (Friday, May 6, 2005). I just wanted to see if it was true. Got a message saying my base stats had increased 8%, but of course none of my stats changed. I figured just once piece wouldn't hurt to experiment on if it failed. Sure enough, I checked and the actual stats of the bracer didn't change. I played all day and didn't notice that I now had the 'armor hindrance' icons on me. When I did notice, I checked that bracer, and it HAD changed.

Original stats:

Kinetic: 4639

Energy: 6639

All Specials: 5639

New Stats:

Kinetic: 5121

Energy: 7121

All Specials: 6121

That is over 10%. I was really impressed by it, though I did start getting some hindrance (movement .4, accuracy .9, rate of fire 1.3). Still, this was a significant upgrade to the armor. I may be a gambler, but I'm almost afraid to try it with the rest of my armor!
