Thread: WES, are you getting any communication with the DEV's TH Tiggs?

- anyone know the names of any active developers (except blixtev)?
I have put 4 questions regarding this situation here. Hopefully Wes will be able to answer.
It is interesting to note that a Position Announcement for a Developer has not yet appeared on the SOE employemnt webpage.

i grilled a SOE guy at comic con and posted what he said on one of tiggs threads, she was none to happy and sent me a email, demanding who told me that NOTHING more has been even tested for smuggler, but he was one of the game testers that did test the smuggling system. it looks like well were getting the shaft again, even though the BH are now complaining that there GETTING content, when we have NONE. its hard to even make my self find time to play this game now.

SOE just found out Friday. hehe. It could take them up to 90 days to find another designer to replace GM. Then it could take another 60-90 days for that designer to get settled into the position and caught up on everything that is going on.
Wanna know how the process works?
GM's last day was on Friday...
In about 2-4 weeks SOE's Human Resources Department will send out the word that they're hiring.
Another 2-4 weeks will pass and they'll start doing the 1st interviews.
An undeterminated time later when the Lead Designer has time, he'll do a second interview with 2-3 of the most likely candidates. He'll introduce each one around the office, etc.
Weeks after that He'll have 2 of them back for an in depth office interview where everyone BS's each other for several hours on end about how they think the game should go, and what do the new people think about THAT?
Then they'll anounce the new person being hired.
Said new person will sign on and be all enthusiastic and happy and posting a lot in the forums and get ideas and clues about what is going on while he tries to catch up with whatever mess GM left him and they get used to SOE procedure.
Everyone on the forums will go (Wow! Looks like we might actually get some stuff here pretty soon.)
More time will go by, Said new designer will stop posting so much as he settles into his job and begins to deal with the stresses and tensions of everyday worklife on an MMORPG.
Six months down the road you'll get a totally watered down version of what you wanted but a lot of people will be happy with that, those who aren't will flame the new designer left and right, giving little thought to the fact that the designer had absolutely no say in this design, it was what his bosses wanted.
Then you won't hear from him again for a couple years until he quits and moves on to another game because he's done his time at SOE, has an awesome looking resume, and is ready to move away from SOE as quickly as possible because the whole place is just bonkers.
So really, you can see how your comment is sort of absurd to me. Big companies move like turtles, and often the reasons that made them big so long ago are totally gone and said companies are simply moving on the premise that a huge boulder that starts rolling down a hill is a helluva hard thing to STOP rolling.
If you expect anything to happen before the new year, you are setting yourself up for a major disappointment. GM is gone, the only way you'll see smuggler content now is if he had already finished something up before he left and it was just waiting to be approved by the lead designer and the 2-3 in house testers they have.
As for TIGG's getting upset. Well, Tigg's Title COULD be Community Relations Manager. or it could be SOE'sPropaganda Manager. They both equal out to the same thing in the end.
As far as what the guy said, the poster already said. lol. He said that there was no smuggler content in the pipeline. And that's what pissed Tigg's off.
