Thread: CH Changes Point Possible Smuggler Revamp Direction?

I'm glad the CH's got some lovin'. They've been needing it as much as we have.
But I'm still pissed that we haven't heard jack about our Smuggling.
Want me to come back, SOE? Give me my damn Smuggling!

CH just got a form of revamp on the Test Server. Apparently, those who know say it's pretty much a rip-off of WoW's Hunter class' abilities.
If thats right, and this is the direction SWG is going (WoW in a SWG Universe), it's not unfeasible to imagine that a possible Smuggler Revamp will turn us into clones of WoW's Rogue class - 'stealth' and so forth; maybe our version of Force Cloak (seeing as TK has their version of Force Armour) useful against NPCs/Faction(?)
Its only a thought, of course, and I'm obviously assuming too much with regards to SOEs consideration to this sadly emaciated profession....but keep your eyes peeled, just in case I'm right.
Its been known to happen. Heh.
For me, it's too late. I'm disheartened with the whole thing, and I won't be pouring over the Forums much. CoH has my money and my loyalty. Only if there is a spectacular reversal of Customer Service, Communication and Fun re-injected into this MMO will I ever consider returning.
OK, its all good that other professions might be getting the love...but uh....notto be an ass, but Im not a CH....now if I was a CH, and I was allowed to use pets for two years, yeah they would deserve it more than I.....but really. I look at this and in essence I see another delay in the smuggler love...

While I'm enjoying playing WoW, if SWG becomes a clone of it, then I'll drop SWG. I don't need to be playing two identicle games.
but the 'Sani!!! who will watch over the 'Sani? you cant ditch teh 'Sani!!!
pppfffftttt watch me ![]()
ARRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once the CU went live and respec came around, and the level system made it clear that if you wanted to play at the highest level, dabbling was no longer an option...
I respec'ed out of MCH/some BH/some TK to MCH/Smuggler.
Mainly because I'd heard about the upcoming revamp of Smuggler and it sounded way cool. Missions that had consequences if you failed them. Actually moving illegal goods and getting a cut of them to sell. A slicing minigame that required you to pay attention and use your noodle.
All of that sounded great.
So, I dropped a ton of Master Marksman and picked up novice Smuggler and started using post CU double XP to work my way up to the master box.
And waited.
Then pub 19 hit.
And I realized, at that moment, that pub 19 was "the smuggler revamp." And it sucked. "Plan B" was more love for full template Jedi, not any love for smugglers. Making the new slicing tools loot drops sealed the deal. Not only did it cater more to powergamers, it was obvious that the devs considered it to be the "smuggler revamp" in total and that was it.
Now, as a CH, I should be thrilled that we're getting some attention.
But some of the most annoying things about CH, like not being able to command your pet to change targets, or cats unable to keep up with you when you're riding a dewback, are not addressed. Futhermore, this new system is being presented without so much as a mention in the "in concept" forum. At least smugglers got to be given the illusion of some sort of community participation in their revamp. CHs are being told this is it, take it or leave it. They've yet to explain what happens to my friends on my datapad now, too. One of them just turned two years old the other day.
So, hope that you don't get this treatment, that you're given a chance to have a say in your revamp, whenever it hits. Becasue the CHs are getting love, but we're not really sure what kind yet. That remains to be seen.
