Thread: Slicing help! This item is already being sliced

Fellow Smugglers:
Does anyone know if there is a /command to end a slicing session? What happened is this...I was slicing a container just prior to the server reset, and I was in the middle of slicing a container when the server booted me. Much like crafting, the slicing session remains open for me now, yet I have no ui for slicing. I didn't actually perform anything (no clamp, no cuts).
For the crafters, you can /stopcraftingsession or /createprototype practice no item to close a hung session. Is there any such command for slicing to cancel an open slicing session?

Are you sure about the message? Normally, if you are bugged, you will get the "You are already slicing something" message. The "This item is already being sliced" message normally meant that what ever you are trying to slice is already in the process of being sliced by another smuggler. The first is a bug and the second is an exploit.
If you are bugged, you can try to /sit and /logout for 30 minutes or so. If that doesn't fix it, you may have to wait for the server to reset.

I am sure about the message. Though I thought nothing of it until I got to my last container to open. Then I remembered that the server reset on me during the slice.
I'll just have to wait it out, I guess. I looked over the /commands, and saw nothing like a /endslice.

Rookgraawl is correct... this can happen...
A few weeks ago I was slicing some armor and I had one of the slicing windows open on one of the pieces (I think it was the Moleclamp selection window, but not positive now) when through some accidental sequence of keystrokes, my slicing window disappeared (I did not 'Cancel' it or press Esc). When I tried to slice the piece again, it gave me that message "This is already being sliced" or whatever. I tried just about everything, but could NOT get rid of it. I wish I could tell you what finally did it, but I DID finally get to slice the piece.
You might try...
-- logging out/in (maybe with complete reboot).
-- trading the piece back to the owner and then getting it again
-- Maybe waiting two minutes ?? like a mission term?

Thanks for confirming the trouble. I think I'll just tuck that container away, and wait for the server reset tomorrow. I'll post and let everyone know, incase anyone else searches the forums for this problem.
