Thread: TC2 helped me test my desired template!

Well, I finally got to try it.

Master Smuggler

Bounty Hunter 0040

Pistoleer 0043

I grouped with a friend who was Master BH, Master Carbineer grabbed the free buffs and went to the squill caves. We were tearing that place up! I was spamming LD specials like a TK(Once a second, sometimes twice it seemed!).

Now, I will admit that the weapons handed out on TC were really fast. The slowest I grabbed was a 2.1 spd weapon. I'll try grabbing a Tangle tonight to see what happens. But otherwise, it is this smugglers observation that this build is quite good for PvE'ers who want to dish out the damage fast with a pistol. It's fast and accurate.

TC2 helped you test your desired template...

But did it help you test the patch?

(sorry, still failing to see how its not going to just turn into a big toybox consuming valuable dev staff/server/build staff time and attention, maybe i shouldn't draw conclusions from the first day or two of playtime, i dunno)

Yeah, I tested the patch. I found out the Entertainer character I made has NO CHANCE at being force sensitive since she has no combat skill.

I was never met by "an old man" with my Smuggler/BH/Pistoleer character.

You don't need the xxx3 in pistol unless you want the extrea melee def.....the special there is broken, and at xxx1 combined with BHxx4x youll be able to hit the 1second cap on LD with a 3.7 speed wpn. I have this template on live, and it is very good. I went with the 0041 in Pistol so that I could have nov. commando for the LP. I now spam LD with my LP at one per sec...and the LP is 120-398 with a PU...it gets alot of +3K hits in there.

The big droidekas in the geo caves quiver before that onslaught. Who needs melee defense when you can lay down over 12K of dmg in less than 5 seconds (as well as stun/blind/bleed/burn). I even outdamaged a master Pikeman on a janta leader. (He thought he could run down the janta cave after I hadworked myway to the bottom so he could steal the leader from me.) Imagine his surpise when the Master Smuggler was able to loot it and he wasn't........imagine his surprise when I FDed when the rest of the train of Jantas that had followed him showed up! I'm selling the +1 armor Exp tape on the trade forums now.

I went on there and played around with templates a little. This was after I tested as much as possible with the FS quests.

So far...

1) Old man visits you and gives you a crystal. You have to keep it safe. You can not open the quest journal it contains unless you use /ui action questJournal. That should be fixed soon though

2) I had to log in order to get the two Shadow Outlaws to come after me. Not hard to kill with 85% composite and a master yielded flamethrower but it really ticks me off that my weaponsmith won't stand a chance since he has 0 combat skills. Being a Wookiee he has a nice bowcaster but I did not get to check those guys stats to see what kind of chance he will have in beating them.

3) You loot a datadisk off the shadow warriors and go to a wp. You are suppose to investigate where the shadows came from and you find a camp of 3 SIth. I managed fine with my master commando TC character, buffed and 85% composite and a damn good flamer. This I know would get my non-combat weaponsmith creamed. They conned red and yellow for me and had around 10k HAM I think. So there are FS quests for non-combat players but you have to go through some heavy combat in order to get there. Really well thought out there.

4) Next is where I got stuck. You are suppose to get sent to the Dath Science Outpost where a lady Jamila wants to talk to you. I never got the quest to go there and even if I did it wouldn't matter because Jamila was bugged all to hell. Everyone who got her had her come up and say she wants to talk them. As soon as they tried to talk to her she said she had nothing to discuss with them.

Anyways that is my TC2 test. Character builder is fun though hehe

Haha, yeah I got to test my planned template out there as well. No foods, no stat migrate, but I still managed to win my only duel there quite easily. All I did was /feign and stay down until the guy had about half his mind bar left, then got up and spammed him with unarmed headhit until he was incapped. All the while while getting flooded with requests to slice weapons for people, when I couldn't even find any WUK's.

I have the feeling this person was either really bad a dueling, or relies on foods too much. He barely even touched my ham. and that was using a power hammer. Of course the free 80% resist all armor helps.

By the way, as of this morning on TC2, if you try to change colors on comp armor, the option gets covered up by our slice option.

Don't worry though, we can still change the color when we try to slice....

TC2 was very nice, once you got out of Mos Eisley anyway

Yep, missions are bugged at Jamilla. I tried as many variations as I could to get her to actually talk to me before I finally called it a night.

*whispers, but I left Smuggler out of my build completely *

Oh, and to the Original Poster - That is a nice template. You could also try changing the last line in Pistoleer for the first, Dodge is a very nice defense to have

Well, speed is what I'm going for. With my original build I can get a +103 speed with no skill tapes. With Commando thrown in I can get +91 and could always skill tape it up over 100. (My drive for +100 or more is cause I hear you can fire even the slowest pistol at the lowest delay)

What about the Techniques line? (I think that is what 0-0-X-0 is anyway). If you drop it you can get Dodge and have all the Speed. (Personally, I just think Dodge works much better on Defense that the state Defenses, so I wanted to mention that too )

I will try that out. +80 Dodge sounds quite nice, though I will miss Fan Shot(only useful cone attack I see) and the Geo Cert(Wait-a-minute, when the hell will I ever get a Geo on MY server? Never!).

Yeah, the KS was really getting to me last night. It took me over an hour to finnally get the data disks because people kept KS and ninja looting the disks from me.

Once I finally got the disks, I was stuck at the outpost like everyone else last night. Hopefully it will be much better tonight.
