Heya!
I'm going to go both Pistoleer and Smuggler, and both needs a truckload of pistol xp. I need some sugestion on how to prioritze my xp, I'm still just novice in smuggling and was thinking of going up novice pistoleer before I start taking any of the Underworld skills... suggestions?

Do Pistoleer 0040 1st.
You want that fanshot. It's a nice cone area attack, so you can rack up xp alot quicker. Max out the pistoleer tree 1st for the quickest grind.
Smuggler gives no accuracy or speed, so do it last.

Yeah definately Pistoleer first.....
Tecniques tree as has been said is probably the best line to go for first for Fan shot..... and go up theStances tree as well as you get enough combat points for the speed mods... after Techniques I would go Markmanship Tree.
Best method I found for grindingup to Fan Shot was running a PointBlankArea shot macro on Lairs. Just stand a few metres away from the lair and run the macro, you will hit the lair and everything that spawns stay near you and the lair and you will hit them all at the same time.
Much quicker than going for targets one at a time.

Get things in this order...
Pistoleer 0040 first and foremost. Fanshot will let you get Xp much faster.
Pistoleer 224X Getting two boxes of Accuracy and 2 boxes of Dodge will help you alot more than anything Smuggler has to offer. The speed tree (denoted with an X) comes with time as it uses Combat xp only.
(after this, you can mix up the order to taste)
Next get Dirty fighting 4. Thats smuggler 0040. The reason for this is simple. Last ditch is the highest DPS pistol shot in the game, and is useful for finishing things that you have pounded with fanshot. Lowblow is also really useful.
Finish out your dodge tree. 424X. Dont bother with bodyshot3, it isnt all that it is cracked up to be. I have found that being good at dodging helps my survivability greatly.
Finish Accuracy 444X. By this time you should have you speed tree finished as well and be a Master Pistoleer.
Lastly, get Underworld 4. 4040. It does not help you in combat at all, that is why it is last.
Thats my advice.
I decided to master smuggler first, so that I could slice for my guild, but it would have been so much better if I had done pistoleer first. Those smuggler trees would have been so much easier to do.
Being master in both is pretty cool. I hope it is worth it after the CU.

Actually kill everything you see with a cdef...more challenging that way. Seriously tho...yeah get fan shot first, then the xp wil seem to jump at ya, get buffed and tackle savage quenkers on dant, remastered pistol in a few buff sessions.
