I was glad to see so many of my fellow smugglers on TC-5 last night. It was a true joy to interact will you all on the same server and to see such a full [SIN]. As for smuggler in the CU, I'm excited. I like the specials and I like how they will stack with other professions. I'm over the moon at how dabbler unfriendly smuggler is for combat (I mean really, are people going to level spices and slicing just to get a few special
). I'm somewhat dreading testing the slicng numbers but am looking forward to getting that far into the testing. I miss my combat que, and am not a huge fan of the colerfull icons.I hate the 8 person group limit and having Drev.Ipseck, 2 of his guildies, and myself get owned by a single gubberhas got to be my all time low combat moment!
However, now that the first day fun and games are over I have a plea for my smuggler brother and sisters. Let's be serious about this from now on. That means leveling that serious way. The bugged specials thing is a blast but we are never going to really test this thing fully if we do that. I'll fully admit that I'm terrified about the amount of time between now and May 5th. It's far too little IMO and if we don't cowboy up and do this the right way we are looking at a system as buggy as the current one. I plan to be on as much as I possibly can and I look to seeing all of you on TC and the [SIN].

I honestly think that a little over a month is nowhere near long enough to totally test a brand new combat system, let alone debug it. That being said I'll just keep testin' and /buggin' I really hope this breathes new life into the game.

exactly, that's why we really need to focus to make sure that smuggler (*and a few other professions I suppose)is as bug free as

Another thing people need to remember is that there are nearly twice as many devs as there was a year ago. They will be able to hit bugs alot quicker and more efficient now I believe. I have faith in them
I absolutely loved the CU testing last night, joining SIN and interacting with everyone was great
I think they need to add a queue window but instead have it only show a max of 3-5 Queue Specials. Atleast 2... The colorful icons, I am a huge fan of. They should have done this to start off with. Some things I have issues with... particularly the low level creatures, but grouping to kill loons and so forth are fun. I have an issue with Panic Shot's graphics because it creates this blue and red flashing beacon that won't go away until you logout, clone, or shuttle... But overall, it's freakin sweet. Last Ditch is beyond amazing

With only one or two specials the icons and their changing colors aren't so bad BUT with Master Smuggler and Master Pistoleer I simply can't imagine two bars full of specials that are always in some state of flux.
With the queue window at least it was easy to see what the state of things was.
That and the fact that I don't think I'm going to be able to look at these icons and immediately recognize them when there are two rows of 12. They need to be much simpler. Monochrome icons produced less visual confusion IMO.

And, BTW...
What the hell does "-Tethered-" mean when you shoot at a creature?
And what does it mean when it's name 'glows'?
I ran across both of those killing kreetles last night.

I just wish i could have connected to SIN. I hate channels. It claimed i was there (Cael) but did i get a channel box? No. Could i modify any of the existing boxes to even read the damn' channel? No.
Grrr.

Why couldn't you???
How you do it... goto "Create New Tab" Then goto "Join Chat Channel" then you "Modify Tab" but make sure you've clicked on the new tab and make sure its there...
I did that and it worked fine...

The single best thing about testing last night was having all of you guys there on one server!! I got so jealous afterwards that it couldn't be like that all the time!
Anyway, I agree with Fishy that we need to do the testing seriously and not abuse a bug for the sake of doing so. I know that I didn't use the specials after an initial try out and will continue not to do so.
The speed of progression is frustrating when you don't have a lot of time, but I think it should have been this slow from the start. The grind wouldn't exist in the same form, and it would feel more like you get to enjoy and use each skill box instead of them being an extension of the master box (i.e. racing to the master box and kind of picking up the mods and specials as an afterthought).
it was interesting to go back to KV this morning by myself and get totally owned by the meatlumps we were kicking the crap out of last night as a group. It speaks for the involvement of groups. I also enjoyed how the meatlumps got easier as the majority of the group moved up in skill boxes. It was definately noticeable.
As far as the icons, i think it will take some getting used to, but I do liek the full color, even if they are more distracting. That is the point though ,to make them more visible and noticeable. I too would liek a small combat qeueeueueue (:smileyvery-happy
just so Icould plainly see at least in what order things were going to happen.
That's all for now, I hope to see all my SINners again soon.

When I shot stoppiing shot it either rooted or tethered a creature. When it got tethered it would move in a limited area that I could get outside of and blast the little bugger. However, I couldn't tell what the timer was, sometimes it would tether...sometimes it would take a bite out of my hide.
The glowing name is a new one to me. Maybe its like in EQII where a glowing name means a highly aggressive mob..or its a target indicator. Or you've been hitting the bong too hard
I like the icon and the recharge time of it. Takes a little getting used to but I find its a better indicator that the combat que box

I had to leave farily early, but for the short time I was there, I had a blast.
Call me silly, but I have not tested our specials at all. I figure, I want something to look forward to for when I get Smggler
Plenty of time for me to test it during that phase.
I won't be as much in game as I would love to, tax season in an accounting firm is a very busy time (and I am on top of that studying for my MCSE, so busy busy busy) but I will do my best
Oh, about the low progression, there was a note from a Dev that XPs will be adjusted.

I couldn't get in.
And with the Pope in the condition that he is in- I don't think I'm gonna get to play all weekend (I work in News as well). Triple sad...
