Thread: TC: Combat and The New UI
Press CTRL + the Attack you want to set as your auto attack. You will notice a little orange check on that box now. Whenever you activate that box it will keep repeating as long as you have action.

One of the more confusing things about the new combat UI is that there isn't any such thing as autoattack anymore.
You start shooting a pistol at little birdie... and then you stop. You don't attack again until you explicitly hit the attack button.
It gets to be a bit repeatative, though I'm sure that when you start building specials the process will be a bit more intresting.
But yea, all mobs have been taking steroids, there is a definite encouragement to grouping, but is not necessarily necessary.
That being said ungrouped it feels like a grind.
In summary, expect a lot of NONsolo hunting groups, just like the golden days.
Actually there is still a way to do auto-attacks, though it no longer is a default auto-attack. We now give you the ability to decide what ability you would like to use as your auto-attack. Just Ctrl left click on a combat ability icon on your toolbar and it will become your looping auto-attack.
Thank the maker. So I can make "shoot" my looping attack or "stopping shot" my looping attack? (naturally each subject to their timers).
The only other concern I have over this is .. I want to be able to hit F1 to start my attack (I use the mouse to move, but rarely if ever acutally click the toolbar). I know this is a minor issue, but its all about "how people actually use the interface" and it's fair I think. So: If I cntrl-click my F1 slot ... will it be set as auto-looping until I undo it (such that hours later when I hit F1 it loops again), or is it only for that combat session (meaning I have to cntrl-click it for each mob)?
