I like the template been thinking of a similar tempalte as well.Well the only thing you're replacing in your template adjustment is removing rifleman in place of smuggler. And since you already stated that you do well in PvP and PvE, I'll comment on how changing to smuggler will effect things.
Well for now while concussion is still a root you should still do quite well in PvE and PvP. Once concussion works as a mez, however,you should still do well in PvE and PvP but your tactics will change. Using concussion shot as a mez on adds and on jedi or healing professions, while using snares and roots on anything you're actually fighting.
So yeah I think you should do well in PvP and PvE with that template. It will be something different, being smuggler or carbineer is more a run and gun type feel to how we deal damage...rather than a sit there and take it while you set up an attack profession like rifleman is. Though the "some medic" line may not really be necessary, possibly a better alternative to that is to just use stims. But to each his own...with the points you have left there really isn't much to play around with unless you decide to take some Force sensitive skills or something. Though some exploration skills might be nice to help when kiting.
