40 million credit card accounts, approximately half of which were Visa cards, a little less than half were Mastercards, and the remaining were divided amongst Amex, Discover, and then probably some cards nobody's ever heard of were exposed to a security breach at a payment processing company.
the good news is apparently only about .4% of cards exposed are "high risk" The bad news is they don't really know which ones. So anyone with a Visa or Mastercard, and less so AmEx and Discover, should be watching their statements.
That goes for Canadians that use Visa too

"40 million credit card accounts were hacked...in other news, a recent serge in pies and beer sales create a shortage in 48 out of 50 states. Police believe that these two cases might be related in some way."
