Thread: I hit the slicing jackpot

Master Smuggler on Bloodfin, and I just picked up a new suit of composite for hunting.
So I sit down, break out my tools. Now I make my own tools, with good materials. I know everyone is saying they don't make a difference, but I don't know if I'll ever believe them again!
I don't know how to copy screenshots and what not, but i'll go down the list of what I got, and you'll see why i'm surprised:
encumbrance 29%
encumbrance 37%
effectiveness 13%
encumbrance 39%
effectiveness 17%
encumbrance 34%
encumbrance 39%
effectiveness 23%
encumbrance 42%
and everyone was saying nothing over 35%? Could it be my tools? I was just VERY surprised. Now I'm hoping I can get a crate of weapons to get some good damage slices like this.

That's nothing over 35% for weapons. It goes up to 45% for armor.

encumbrance maxes at 45% sometimes you'll have freak slice on a suit when you'll slice the thing for 40+ average (happened to me once so far in 2 weeks since master)

Don't be too disapointed those are still great numbers considering how low it can go at times.

I don't mean to threadjack... but I am about to...
I wear random armor around for the looks... (Tantel helment and boots bone armor bracers, ubese gloves, padded chest) so yesterday I decided to slice my suit in hopes to get some encumberance slices...6 peices plus some doubles and other armor I wear on occasion... all effectiveness... over 10 peices... of stuff with like a 5-10 percent base...

Do u think that in the smuggler revamp the randomness in slicing (%) will be redone? Or, will it always be a craps shot?

It doesn't matter that we say tool quality doesn't matter so much as the fact that one of the Devs (GreenMarine) openly admitted to the fact.
The players had it shown as 99% true that tool quality doesn't matter, and the Devs put the nail in the coffin hehe

I was slicing psgs for someone the other night. Got 2 45% encumbrance slices....ugh.
Talk about luck
