I LOVE being a smuggler but I think it's because I use it for roleplay...if I was an uber gamer who was trying to make tonz of cash and kill everything in sight I'd probably hate it. As is though, I roleplay a poor, struggling, just trying to get by smuggler and I love it!

Honestly ,if you have to ask, then the answer for you is probably no.

Ahh, I'd say that if you have thesmarts to actually ask before you committed then you could possibilty have the "Slick-tivity" that it takes to be a good Smuggler.
Try it out. And if you're left wanting for a smuggling element play Freelancer, a mostly spaceship-based combat sim. It is single person but you can smuggle! I
It's kinda cool and I hope that JTL can model it as much as possible.

I think that smuggler is a worthless profession right now. Slicing and spices do not make a lot of credits and they just suck when it comes to combat. The thing i really hate about slicing are some of these master smugglers that slice weapons for like nothing. They make it so the rest of us smugglers dont get any money. This one guy was slicing weapons for free. What the hell is that all about. The only way to make money as a smuggler is to sell fp which takes a while to get a lot of or you might be able to make some cash slicing armor for some rich armor smith. If we smugglers want to make money we need toall decide on a price that is goos and use it ,but the problem isthat people do not hold out their end of the bargain. So dont do smuggler until they fix it.I cant wait for the smuggler revamp. But of coarse it was pushed back to pub 11.

Ill give you my experience with it so far; pistol sucks, thus... smuggler is less than adequate for combat. Spice is not in demand, because it is not as useful as brandy. Underworld, I have yet to actually say has a use, and even if i did... its uses are basically passive. That leaves slicing... which makes money yes, but you have to deal with morons who expect you to give them damage slices and complain if you ask for a paltry 5k for your services(even though your tools cost and you have to buy wuks and auks).
But all of these come back to the origional question; is the profession fun? No, most of them are a waste of skillpoints. Sometimes I even hide my title as a master smuggler because I dont want to deal with people who want slices, as they can sometimes be annoying. And when I figure that scout 0040 makes me ten times more per hour than any of my smuggler skills ever could... I guess in reality i am a smuggler in title only.

yes, smuggler sux big time.
is it fun? u damn right it is. but even fun things get annoying sometimes
Commando is always fun ... and BH ... and Squad Leader ... and Politician ...
see where I'm going with this? Devs don't fix fun professions. Only chefs, IDs, and Jedi get a revamp. They are the cornerstones of SW.

For a near busted profession...Smuggler is a TON of fun.
but ya gotta have a lot of patience, and alot of attitude. otherwise, you'll only end up walking away mad and sitting back at the kids tables while the adults contunue to play
