Thread: Developers (and Thunderheart): You want our accounts to stay? This is what you need to do:

This is just a small list that reflects what I've seen as agreeable "temporary" changes for Smuggler. They essentially envince the essentials we've asked for, going on a year now.

No more discussion. No more "possible" revamps. No more delays. We're acceptant of the fact that we're not going to see a major profession overhaul for a while now. You REALLY need to sacrifice a day or two on that damned Jedi Revamp and satisfy a few tidbits of our problems, or you're going to lose more than a few customers.

1. Dirty Fighting

A. Fix Panic Shot. It wasn't the game-breaking tool that Warcry/Warcry2 became. We're ahybrid, second-tiercombat class, not a base profession mastery. The delay in re-using this skill was enough of a fix.

B. Fix Feign Death. That "nerf" was ridiculous. The distance that creatures "remember" their aggro on you is just confusingly high. Don't even worry about PvP. That's too much time on the Developer's side to make it feasible right now.

C. Last Ditch is great. Low Blow is useful. Leave them alone.

2. Slicing

A. Change the text in Master to reflect what bonus we DO recieve. We know it's there, you know it's there, how about our skill box knows it's there?

B. Change the numbers and get rid of that horrid low-end for Master Slicers. We shouldn't be breaking anything below 25%. We're MASTERS. Leave the rest of slicing alone. Don't bother with a new UI if you don't have the time. We'd all love the ability to choose speed or damage at Master, but for some reason, you think it would be game-breaking. Fine. I make plenty of money slicing multiple weapons for people anyway. Just get rid of our 12% low end at the top tier of our skill.

C. Stop worrying about what else we have available to slice. If you come up with some nifty ideas for the JtL, GREAT. If not, we'll wait. It's not something we've been dying for anyway.

3. Spices

A. Add the two master spices you've been discussing, Liik and Glitterstim. Take a whole hour, get together a few heads, decide on some numbers and attributes, and put them in the game. Hell, there are plenty of nice food "skins" you could use for them, and I can guarantee that you'll avoid hearing "We want our own graphic for them!". That's so moot right now it's a non-issue.

B. Just tweak the numbers a bit. During that hour, look at a few of the higher-tier spices, and simply ask the question, "Why is nobody using these?". Make a few numbers changes, and put them in with the other spices. The duration seems tobe a bigissue. Foods are so long-lasting and potent that people don't really care about spices anymore. Jump up the duration (and proporationately the downer, if you feel it's necessary). You don't have time for a full spice revamp, and we're already going to HAVE to wait for one, so throw us a bone here.

C. Forget experimentation for now. If you want to throw it in, WAIT for the JtL. Spices have a place in the game right now. It's not an overlynecessary commodity, but with the addition of those two master spices and a few numbers tweaks, it should suffice.

4. Underworld

A. Who cares? Leave it alone. Save the space for your JtL promises. We don't know what we're missing with it anyway, so don't bother with it.

Summary

The majority of what we're asking is for simple code changes. Adding text, changing a few low-end numbers in the random equations that decide our slicing, changing a few numbers in spice, adding two spices. This ISN'T something you should have a problem with. It's not something that takes a lot of time to develop. Why? We have nine-hundred documents here explaining the changes, that you asked for.

Make these changes. They should take you two, maybe three days if you just swallow your pride and accept that you have to crunch now, because you made some HUGE mistakes in scheduling. Push back the live Jedi revamp publish, since it needs so much work as is, and give us a FEW of the changes we've waited for since Beta 3.

If these are changes you need to remove for a revamp in JtL, FINE. We don't CARE at this point .We want something at least temporary to tide us over, and to make us feel like a class with purpose and some focus again.

Believe me when I say that we're all beyond asking. This is pretty much a demand, or you lose some rather serious capital per month.

Heh. Someone didn't agree. (My poor stars!)

And please understand, Devs, that if this isn't something you're willing to bend on, we want a reason why.

Sign all you want, it's good for morale. It's likely do do FA though, as the Dev team seem to be well and truely under the Marketing department's thumb. Some devlopers have to make sweeping changes to their games to satisfy a publisher's marketing deps, it would seem these guys are in that situation.

How do I come to this conclusion? simple, Jedi's abig marketing device "ooh, pretty! lightsabers!", "Wee, force powers!" (and for the mentally challanged) "omg, uber pwning! hax teh F0rce!"

And really.. who in their right minds would put supposedly scarce and valuable art resources into frickin IDs when there's so much more that's needed to fix iconic professions (no offence meant to the IDs, I'm glad there's at least one profession that's nearing their full potential, I just wish there were more of them and all the SW iconic professions were included)

The communication FROM the devs has been embarassing for EVERYONE involved in making this game. I think we'd all be fine with NO changes until the actual revamp if we knew what those changes were. Pitiful SOE ..... Pitiful.

For those that are simply skimming and not replying to bump or /sign this, please do us the favor of rethinking your lack of participation.

These are the simplest changes we've asked for. These are merely recoding of content we have, or the simple addition of something we have a structured design for. (spice)

The smuggler community needs your help. We don't have the time to suggest new "ideas". We need to reinforce our resolve to see these positive, albeit miniscule, changes made to our current skilltree, so that our profession can be profitable, enjoyable, and indeed VALID while we wait for a serious makeover and integration as smugglers.
