Is using a powerup during slicing considered an exploit, if so, here is a candidate for the "ban bin"
http://www.swgscreenshots.com/photo/?p008768
When I asked him to tell me what it was, was just a stalling tactic while I resized my chat window to encompass the whole conversation.
I have already reported him, but I thought the Smugglers on FarStar should know, incase he tries it on you.

This is rather common, sadly. SOE won't actually do anything to him since he hasn't exploited. There are many threads in this forum about this. You'll find some good and rather humorous ideas on how to deal with these guys. Easiest way is to /ignore.
Thanks for letting us know about him so that we may also choose to /denyservice

I have had that same question asked to me a ton of times. I just refuse to slice the item.
When it does come to adding powerups though what is the legit way of doing it? you can add them before or after but not in between right?

Adding before will just cause the PU to be removed during the slice, adding after...sure, hell tell them you did it his way and charge him extra. Tho, he'll be a little pissed in about 100 shots tho.

We could just tell him that they nerfed the smuggler profession and even though we can add powerups they will always be limited. Maybe we will draw a little more attention towards the profession and get a revamp at the same time lol
Thank you for clearning that up though.

Here's an idea... the next time someone asks you to do a powerup slice, especially on a bulk order, tell him that you'll do it if you get your payment in advance. Then, do the slices using a clamp as always, but purposefully cut the wrong wire on every single one of their guns. Then toss the powerups on the guns, trade back to the guy, and walk off laughing about how dumb exploiters are.

That is an awesome idea!!

Hehe, yeah. I want to add that I don't think any CSR in his right mind would take action against you if you decide to do it, but since when have we been guaranteed that we can count on the validity of any statement that's preceded by "_____ in his right mind" ?

Some smuggler you are narc.
What I mean to say is, who cares??? Say no, laugh, and keep going. That is a very unsmuggler thing to do. Smugglers don't go narcing people off to authorities. If someone is harrasing, sure report 'em...but not for something this stupid.

You do know the difference between fiction and reality right? He's a smuggler in the game, presumably not one in real life. He's not talking about reporting the guy to the Empire for asking for a slice, he's talking about helping eliminate exploits from this game that we play.

/agree
He came in here looking for an answer to his problem. Doesn't really require an assinine response. He's trying to help make the game a better place by relieving it of exploiters. Granted its a little misdirected in this case but the intentions were correct. Nothing wrong with asking a question and also warning other smugglers about the guy.

Looks like another idiot wandered out of their player city...
Geez...they should put these people on leashes or something...
Anyway...best idea I've heard as far as dealing with this is, agree to do the slices, slice all weapons normally, then trade the weapons back. Charge extra for your "special" slices, and keep the nice P-ups for an added bonus. Only after payment is recieved should you /denyservice and /addignore.
