Thread: Help out a veteran Smuggler...
If you PvPin a team, I'd heavily recommend Smuggler/Commando/Pistoleer 4404. I can lay states on a HUGE group of people with the Acid Stream Launcher, and it is a godsend to my team.
If you PvE.... ummm.... I dunno WHAT to recommend.
As soon as you actually log in you'll start your normal 21 day respec period where you can respec every 12 hours. Once you are done with that period you should get a notice about your respec being your last one. After that you should still have your one "token" respec that you can save for anytime.
I plan on holding onto mine for a long time, since I am a casual player, if I change my mind a grind for a new profession can take months. That token respec will come in handy.
Keep in mind that the 21 day respec is for any pre-CU characters, whereas the token respec is for all character period. So if you wanted to make a few new toons on different servers, before the publish hits, they would have the token respec to use anytime.
btw - we miss you over on Starsider, there is a Smuggler-centric movement going on that you should talk to Mayor Keck about when youfeel up to it!

BTW...what's with all the pie references? I'm out of it for a little while, come back, and all of a sudden, everybody has a sweet tooth or something...I'm confused...
I may give the whole respec thing a try...but it's gonna be another two weeks before I can even think about playing the game again...my sis is getting married next Saturday, so it's gonna be a hectic couple of weeks for me. So, I won't respec until after that...
But, I'll be sure to give Keck or Tomo a hollar when I jump in. Is SIN still up and running as the Smuggler chat channel?

The pie stuff.. I dunno, I think people got tired of all the template talk, all the Jedi junk, all the annoying or petty or argumentative stuff that got stirred up with the CU.
But everyone loves pie.

Dreven, good to see you posting again - was starting to get concerned.
My toon is a Master Pistoleer/Master Smuggler/Medic 4040/Novice Doctor. This works well in team play and in solo adventuring. The nice part is that since they made most weapons available by combat level instead of profession, I can use all the pistol specials with a good laser rifle and get more range on the things we're fighting. Healing damage and wounds is a nice bonus, too.
